Resolution 1440 - dual cards?

Hi folks

I currently have a 7950 OC sapphire card and a Dell ultrasharp 24" IPS monitor. I've been thinking about going 27" in dells ultrasharp lineup. I'm trying to wrap my head around the resolution of 2560x1440 vs my current 1920x1200.

1) If i'm playing a game like battlefield 3, with the increased resolution, will I see more of the environment surroundings around the player or will the image you see be the same as on a 24" but made bigger to fit the 27"?

2) Would i need dual 7950 to support the larger resolution for gaming?

Other PC specs - i5 2500k, 16gb ram, asus p8z68 v-pro gen 3

1. No, you'll see the same. Your Player and Trees etc will look larger.

2. No, 7950 is a beast. It will handle that
