Can you set like a password protection in this platform?..I would like to
keep people from being able to access my computer..My kids have started
letting there friends have their way on my computer. I want to be able to
keep them and their friends from using my system while I'm at work. I can't
find where to set the password to log onto the windows!..I used to do this on
Windows 98..can it be done w/XP?..Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi,

Control Panel/Users, you can set a password here. Also disable the guest
account and password the administrator account. This will effectively block
casual use. Now, if they are good with pc's, then they can quickly and
easily find an NT password reset utility, so the next step would be to
either remove physical access to the machine or set a BIOS password and use
a locking tower cabinet (so they can't open it an manually reset the BIOS
password).

I fail to see how you managed it under 98. Security under any 9x-based OS
was akin to a heavily secured door in the middle of a field. One click of
the 'cancel' button and you're in anyway.

Had you bothered to enter 'password' in Help and Support you'd have found
all the information you required.
