Hello, I want to get a different GPU than the one I currently have and was wandering if anyone who is more knowledgeable on this usbject could give advice?
I use my setup for gaming first, but also a bit of video editing on the side:
i7 9700k
MSI 2070 Super Ventus OC
16GB (2x8) 3200 Corsair Vengace RAM
Before the announcments of the 3000 and 6000 series I was thinking about getting another 2070 Super, but this time from ROG with the thicker, 3 fan cooler for lower temps and quieter operation. That card costs almost £600, and considering that the RX6800 allegedly will be around £550, and the ROG 3070 OC is about £650, I think that that's a terrible value for money. So naturally my sights have moved to these two cards since I can get a load more performance for the same or similar price.
Since the RX6800 is (allegedly) cheaper by around £100, is capable of boosting higher and has DOUBLE the memory than the ROG 3070 OC, to me the choice seems like a no brainer. The one thing that sort of scares me is that the 3070 has a lot more cores, but I don't really know what that means. Overall I may have missed or misunderstood something, which is why I wanted to ask for more porfessional opinion on which card I should buy;
