RS480M2 mb with 64 Bit 3500 chip & 2gb RAM
When I try to run core center it says it's not compatible with this mb. Of
course the documentation says nothing about that. It just tells how to use
it.
What the hells going on? This isn't my only complaint about this mb. More
to follow.

Not really. Core Center works together with the Core Cell-chip for
overclocking or fan control and the hardware-monitoring chip for
monitoring fan speeds and voltages.
These functions are independent from the mainboard-chipset, since Core
Cell and hardware-monitoring-chips are separate chips on the mobo.

So, on my VIA based K8T Neo2-FIR Core Center works, except fan control,
but that seems to be a BIOS issue of that board.

Michael

Corecenter is an overclock utility. For common nvidia and intel
chipsets.
Had you expected to overclock with this m-atx board ? this board
cannot overclock before someone finds a way to make pin-mods on a 939
socket (cheat the motherboard to a given v-core and multiplier).

I have it running fine with 1 Gbyte ram and 3500+.

I run it with XP and x64 (RC2 build 1433) in boot manager.

Beta catalyst drivers from ati fixed the graphics in x64. Further I
found beta 64 bits realtek sound driver here:

http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/DevelopWithAMD/0%2C%2C30_2252_11467_11402%2C00.html

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloads1-3.aspx?series=16&Software=True

I am going to try them tonight.

I don't know what AIWR is.

I use onboard video (x200) and saw that 3dMarks2001se 1024x768x32 was
5300. This is a respectable value. Better than nforce2 IGP anyway.

Just got the board running last night. So I have to try it more.

best regards

John

These sound drivers were not accepted !

That's interesting because the core center is well discussed in the manual
for the board. If it's not compatible with the board it shouldn't be in
there.

It's just an appendix, and it should have been omitted !

an easy error.
