Hey guys,
for the last few months my pc keeps crashing in certain games. I’ve built the system around April 2021 only keeping my GPU from the old system. At first it only seemed to appear in the game Rocket League. This led me to the conclusion that it had to be a bug in Rocket League. I also can remember this happen in my old system playing with the same GPU. I’ve also tried switching the GPU to my old system to see if the crash still happens, which also happens in the other system with the same GPU. Since Rocket League isn’t my main game, it wasn’t that big of a problem. Recently I also had problems playing CS:GO. After playing for a few minutes GPU usage spikes which go up to 100% appear and I experience massive lags. After a few more minutes the game becomes unplayable. Sometimes, I also experience the same crash as in Rocket League.

What does the crash look like?
I attached a video as well as an HWiNFO log for you guys to see how it looks. When the PC crashes my monitors turn black and the GPU fans turn up to 100%. I can still hear ingame sounds which leads me to the conclusion that this is a problem of my GPU since the pc is technically still running in the background. I then must restart my PC with the Power Button. When the PC is restarted, I always hear a sound similar to the sound you hear when unplugging a USB Drive.
I hope somebody can help me with the problem since gaming has become impossible. Thank you in advance!

My specs:
CPU:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700K CPU @ 3.80GHz
GPU: NVIDIA KFA2 RTX 2070 8GB Mini OC Bulk
Mainboard: MSI MPG Z490 GAMING PLUS (MS-7C75)
Drive: Sabrent Rocket Q (2TB) NVMe 4x 8.0 GT/s
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB
PSU: be quiet! System Power 9 700W ATX 2.4 (BN248)

try this step by step (read until end):
  • Disconnect from internet
  • Uninstall gpu driver DDU (clean and do not restart).
  • Uninstall all the processors on device manager (should be 16 on yours, also when it asks for restart, click on no) like this:

  • Restart the pc to bios, and update to the latest bios. Then go to bios again after update and load default or optimized settings.

  • boot up to windows and install the latest Chipset driver, reboot, and connect to internet.

  • Install the latest nvidia driver.

*do this all offline until reboot after installing chipset driver, also you may reboot to bios after all of this to set the XMP (and previous settings you did) and make sure ram is on slot 2 and 4 if you use 2 sticks. Download needed files (highlighted word) before doing step 1, do the step by orders.

  • And check windows update (and optional updates) if there is any and install them (except chipset in optional update). Also enable Hardware Accelerated Graphics Scheduling (available on the latest win 10 update) in graphics settings like this and reboot:

Make sure the psu connected to the gpu is 1 pcie cable per 1 slot (use main cable, not the branches/split) like this:

Solution
Hey,
I now could finally manage to take some time to try all your steps. Thank you for your suggestions! The lag spikes in CS:GO are gone now. Unfortunately the blackscreen issue is still the same. Are there any other possible solutions you, or somebody else could think of?
