[SOLVED] RX580/RX590 or GTX1660 for Linux?

I am looking to game at 1080p 60-75fps max settings (8x AA is indistinguishable from 16x for me so I pretty much never pick the latter)
I don't care about the vast majority of new releases, but here are some newer games I am interested in:
Mount & Blade: Bannerlord, Nioh, Sekiro, Nier Automata, Kenshi, Kingdom Come: Deliverance

I'll be using the latest Linux Mint, my first time using a Linux distro. AMD is cheaper and slightly inferior, but I heard it's more Linux-friendly. Does that make it a preferable choice for me?

I'd pick AMD's offering since you seem to be on a budget with your system purchase. This should serve as additional reading material as well as this thread.
