[SOLVED] Ryzen 1600 AF Motherboard

Will an AMD Ryzen 1600 AF processor work with any AM4 motherboard or will I need to update the bios? I want to pair the 1600af with the ASRock B450 Pro4 because the motherboard is cheaper than the newer ones. Will the motherboard require a bios update? I need to know because I don't have an older amd cpu to update the bios. Thanks

It will work with your B450 as it supports Ryzen 2600 by default.

I'd double check the CPU support list for your mainboards on assorted BIOS listings, as the 1600AF was a more recent addition to the Ryzen lineup, and, it might not the same as normal 1600 'business as usual'...(i.e., support for the 2600 is certain, but the 1600AF came much later)
