Ryzen 7 1700x with 1080ti or ryzen 7 2700x with 1080

So om thinking of buying a ryzen system, but i don’t know if i should go for a 1700x with a 1080ti or a 2700x with a 1080. The system is mainly for gaming.
Any help is appreciated thanks

What board? Ram, should be DDR4-3200MHz regardless of your choice. I'd choose the Ryzen 2700x. Might want to share your proposed specs with us in case you're making a mistake.

If you primarily use it only for gaming, I'd take the 1080ti. Benchmarks claim a 30% performance increase over the standard 1080. I think with games, you'd see more of a difference with that than the slightly increased performance of the 2700x over the 1700x.

Right now i have 1080p 144hz, but im getting 1440p 144hz in the near future. Price is not a big issue.

You will need more than a 1080 for 1440p 144hz unless you don't mind sacrificing some settings on newer games. A 2080 may be a good investment.

My vote is the 1080 ti configuration. The 1700x will be fully upgradable until 2021 and you'll notice more of a difference with the beefier graphics card at 1440p resolutions, than you will with the 2700x option.
