Samsung HM100UI 1TB 5400rpm 8MB 2.5" harddrive firmware problem

Hello,
I have a Samsung HM100UI 1TB 5400rpm 8MB 2.5" harddrive and it has a firmware problem.
So windows says "unknown usb device". I need to reach my data on that harddrive
How can I fix/update its firmware?
Any help please?

It's not the HDD that has a Firmware problem, it's the External Casing that you have put the HDD into.
Get a better casing or then use the SATA port on the Mobo to get the data.

Been there, done that!
No, it is NOT the external case problem, it is the hdd firmware problem!
