Sapphire/MSI 7850 vs Gainward GTX 660

ps. gtx 660 i can buy is not "golden sample" but now i see there is very little difference.

I plan to manualy OC graphic card, and i heard 7850 can oc extremly well, but i know very little about gtx 660, especially about Gainward . I will buy XFX 80+ 450W psu btw.

Please guys, give me some advices, and ignore the price differences because 7850's are 253$ (in my country) and GTX 660 is 255$.

The 660 is faster stock vs stock speed plus it has 2gb vs 1gb.I would go with the 660.

undoubtedly go for the 660 many people (including me ) would even recommend it over the 7870

but I don't really know a lot about the gainward card I think u should gor the Gigabyte, Msi TWF or the Asus DCII these are the best 660s they are overclocked and they have the best cooling solutions

I know assus, msi... are the best choice, but i have only gainward as option.

but is it worth buying 660, cause i know i can OC 7850 to at least 1100 MHz. Of course, i would oc 660 too, but would i get the better performance, i know every chip is different, but i want to know in general.

+1 to the GTX660, and I think Gainward are a quality manufacturer. Certainly they never seem to be the cheapest option.

*if* you are going to overclock, then a highly overclocked 7850 will give you the most performance. The 7850 is something of a freak when it comes to overclocking, it's possible to get higher than 1100 mhz, though it requires a BIOS flash.

The 660 is better at stock speeds, and is a decent overclocker itself, though not as much as the 7850 The 2gb of RAM on that 660 will allow you more detailed textures without a significant loss in performance.

P.S. How much are the 2gb 7850's where you live?

Like i thought, 660 can be oc-ed but not as 7850, but still, i think it will do better than 7850 even if they are both overclocked to max.

its 285$ for sapphire 2GB. and thats significant difference. Average salary (per mount) in my country is 775$ so u can do the math :/

I've had some really bad experiences with Sapphire. I was probably just unlucky though.

It sounds like your pretty set on 7850 so i would just get it not sure why your asking everybody already told you go for the 660.
