My Sapphire NITRO+ RX 7800 XT always crash till 20 seconds when boot into Windows after cold start (PC was turned off for some time) and mostly PC boots into 1024x768 resolution only. Then PC reboot from fail and win starts again and everything works correctly until turning off pc. However, there is no minidump, nothing, there was no BOSD, only blank screen and after few seconds reboot. So, I suppose some some HW issue. I am trying solve this for more than 3 days googling everywhere. I tried, many AMD drivers, uninstall drivers with DDU, full updates of Windows 10 or 11, set fast boot to disable in BIOS and Windows as well (turn off fast boot and hibernate ability too), playing with BIOS (also update it) and maybe more. Only solution I found is to replace this new graphic card with my old card Sapphire RX580 Pulse and in that case, everything is running smoothly. I have Asus TUF gaming MB M550 plus, Kingston Fury Renegade Black 32GB, RYZEN 5 5500, Seasonic GX 850 (850W power source). I am currently thinking about returning this card back to store. Can anyone help me plz? Also, I am wondering how many cold starts PC can survive, during weekend I have almost 50 start ups and even more fails after cold starts.

Is there a manufacture date on the product label?
Cannot see anything important on HW as PCU and GPU are inside case with no visible notes. However, I can see some stickers on PCU and GPU boxes but it is hard recognise anything. They contain a lot of numbers. The PCU starts with R2309AA..... I can make only a guess that was September 2023 but such date is too close to the date of purchase. The GPU starts with A234100... and this does not make any sense to me.

The PSU has a label on the side of it, with technical data. Some include a manufacturing date. You have to open the case to see this information.

I ask to assess if you have a PSU that "fixed" the previous design issue that was mentioned earlier.

Seasonic makes excellent products. There was an issue with some previous product lines when the high-end Nvidia 3000 series and AMD 68xx/69xx series were introduced.

This may not be your issue, but one to rule out.

Also, in your BIOS, there are settings you can change for the PCIe version. Have you changed that? Or, is it set to AUTO?
I was playing with this idea but after all I did not try it because too many options. What kind of value I should try, there are 1,2,3. Also, I suppose that I choose and change only PCIe on GPU. Till now they have been always set to AUTO.

With a 5000-series CPU the system should support PCIe 4.0:

AMD Ryzen™ 5000 Series/ 3000 Series Desktop Processors
1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 (x16 mode)
AMD Ryzen™ 5000 G-Series/ 4000 G-Series Desktop Processors
1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x16 mode)
AMD B550 Chipset
1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 (x4 mode)
3 x PCIe 3.0 x1
* Support PCIe bifurcation for RAID on CPU function.

You could try changing to version 3, but at this point I'm not sure if that will help. It is certainly possible you have a defective GPU.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I was also surprised when seeing GEN 3 only as I red before the specifications you pasted here. I already upgraded BIOS to the latest with no effect. I also tried set GEN 3 only but unfortunately again, no effect. So, I am probably going to return the GPU because I am out of options. UPDATE, Ryzen 5 5500 support only PCIE gen 3. But this should not have any effect on my problem with GPU I suppose.

It shouldn't be the issue (Gen 3). Try exchanging the GPU.

I would like thank to all people who tried to help me. I am writing this contribution tell about the end of this problem. I sent the GPU back to shop where I bought it, however, after one week the card returned with info that the card is ok and it has been tested for 24 hours of full load. Therefore, another candidate was my PSU. I tested my PC with another PSU 650W. In this case the PC failed always when booting Win. The source of this problem was AC plug-in socked splitter under my table. So, I replaced all cables between my PSU and the wall plug-in. This solved another additional problem, however, after installing Win the problem with the cold start returned again. So, I reinstall Win ones more (PC failed when Win automaticaly downloaded GPU or another drivers) and immediately after instalation I downloaded the GPU and the chipset drivers from the AMD web and nothing more like Aurmoury Crate or another additional SW. After that, my PC is running smoothly. In summary, I suppose that the reason of my problem was some software issue caused by drivers directly downloaded by Win or Armoury Crate software from Asus. But it is hard to say what exactly was the source of the problem. Surprisingly I am very pleased by temperature of mu Radeon 7800XT. Under full load the card is around 70° of Celsius.
