😕 I cannot see most of the screen of my monitor when playing
Myst, because it is too black...I once hooked my laptop up to the
television, via S-video, and was able to change the contrast,
brightness, etc there as well...Now, I cannot find this area anywhere.
Does anyone know where I can find this area on XP???? 😱

Most monitors have brightness/contrast controls on the front of the monitor.
Look for a button that says menu, or has a sun/split circle icon... As low
end monitors get older they tend to darken and these controls are no longer
enough to compensate.
Also newer video cards have setting to adjust brightness/contrast/gamma
Right click on desktop > select properties tab > select settings tab > click
Advanced button > check the different tabs (color, display, etc..) looking
for brightness/contrast/gamma/color temp settings.
adjust settings as needed.
