[SOLVED] Should I buy a GPU that has artifacts under loads

So I am looking for a new card to buy and I run up onto an MSI GamingX RX 580 8GB gpu, the owner says it has short black lines when its under a load. It is really underpriced. What could this mean for the GPU? Is it dying, does it just need new thermal paste, drivers etc. The owner also offers a 7 day warranty for the GPU.

Artifacts, lines, discoloration, strange colours and shapes, are signs of a dying GPU. It means that sooner rather than later, will worsen and not work at all.

Could be anything....
With artifacting, it's more commonly a memory concern- potentially overheating.

Might be salvageable for an undetermined amount of time with some thermal pads or undercloking/volting the memory.... but it's probably not worth the effort. In all likelihood, it's on it's way out.

The owner also offers a 7 day warranty for the GPU.

I wonder how you'd trigger a warranty on a GPU that's already dying?
"I'd like to return the card I bought as likely broken... it's not the same kind of broken as I suspected"? Doubt that'll fly.
