Question Should I buy a vostro or a latitude?

hello everyone, I currently have a Dell XPS 13 9360 (2017) model laptop. It was having problems and its battery was dead. I got these repaired and I will give this laptop to my brother who is preparing for university exams. I will buy myself a new laptop in a few weeks. I love the Dell brand, but my budget is limited and I can't buy an XPS for myself. Second hand doesn't appeal to me either. I'm torn between vostro and latitude. Are vostro laptops really bad? I usually do homework, watch movies and play sims4 and civilization vi. Is it possible to do these with dell vostro 3420 14'' 16gb ram 512 gb ssd and i5-1235u windows operating system available. Or should I get latitude? latitude hardware is as follows; Dell latitude 3440 i-5 1335u 8GB 512GB SSD FreeDOS.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Based off of what you've provided above, I would look for a laptop with a discrete GPU on it. In fact in 2024, you should have at least 16GB on your laptop/desktop, out of the box. Can you pass on links to both the Dell Vostro and the Latitude?

Where are you located, what is your budget and what is your preferred site for purchase?

I live in Turkey, the economy here is not very good. My budget is maximum 26,000 Turkish lira. You recommend me to use an external graphics card, but I cannot buy it because the prices are too expensive. I am stuck between these two laptops and I want help for this. From those listed, the Vostro looks better because it has more RAM. The other weird thing I see is the Latitude (at least from the site) is it says the OS is "FreeDOS", which is either a typo or it's a bring-your-own-OS situation.

A discrete GPU is not the same as an external GPU.
