I own a laptop[Acer Swift 3(SF315-51G)] which is moderately thin. I use it for gaming and work purposes. I currently have only 1 TB HDD and was thinking of adding an SSD for windows and a few applications. I've heard that NVME drives get very hot in operation and I don't know if my laptop could provide enough ventilation.

My options for the SSD: 500GB 970 Evo Plus, 1TB Crucial P1 3D NAND
OR just replace the HDD with a 2.5 inch 1TB Crucial MX500 (if I would face overheating with nvme).
I don't have space for another 2.5-inch drive. Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

Get an NVME Upgrade of your choice, and when you get some, compare them and pick the right ones for you. dont worry about heat, its not a cpu so its safe 😀
