I have a lga 1155 system with a celeron g530, i recently bought an rx 560 which was on sale new, i am thinking of buying an i5 3470 and just replacing my cpu or saving money to cross onto an am4 platform. My system:
Celeron g530
4gb ram
RX 560
Random 500w psu(replacing it before cpu)
Ga h61m ds2 ver. 1.2 mobo
Excuse me for bad english its not my native language.

I5 3470 could run all new games in a combo with gtx 1050ti or RX 560. I had an I5 3470 and it was very good for gaming, and it was not expensive. My response: I5 3470

If you mean a Ryzen 3 3400G, then there will be about a 30-40% bump in performance over the Ivy Bridge quad core. But either CPU will be adequate for the RX-560 class of cards. I suppose the smart move would be to move to the newer platform, although I doubt you'll see much of a difference from the i5-3470/RX 560 combo. It will however, give you a new platform to upgrade on.

End result...
The i5-3470/RX-560 upgrade will be the cheaper way to get nearly the same performance you'd get with the R3 3400G/RX 560.
But the new Ryzen platform would be best for the long run.

Yeah, you can find them on eBay for like $20. The 3770k has maintained a premium price, thanks to being the final stop on an Sandy/Ivy Bridge upgrade path, but the CPUs below it have dropped in price quickly. It sounds like a 3470 would serve your needs for awhile and you can save money while using it.

I say get the i5 with the best boost clock you can, or even i7 if you can afford it, the hyperthreading really does help. And get another stick of ram while you are at it. 4GB isn't enough nowadays.
The ram isnt a problem, i am geting an 8gb stick when i buy the new psu, thank for he advice
