Hi i have recently got a rx 6800 xt as an upgrade to my rx 5700 xt, it is paired with a ryzen 5 3600 and I play on a resolution of 3440x1440 ultrawide yet I still get quite a significant CPU bottleneck in some games ( Apex, Warzone, valorant, rocket league and F1) don't get me wrong frames are good currently but they are no where near as good as with a 5600x or 5800x. thx

You already have a decent CPU. I’d wait to see what Zen 4 and Alder Lake have to offer.

Otherwise get the best boost you can with your current Motherboard with a 5800x or 5900x and DDR4 3600 RAM. Assuming your motherboard can take it.

Ryzen 5000 series offer a nice boost in performance per clock.
You would get most of that with a 5600x.
Most games can not effectively take advantage of even 12 threads.
To test this assertion for YOUR games, disable one thread and run with 11.
See if you can detect any difference.
5800X would get you 16 as well as a small increment in per core performance.
If you are comfortable with the budget, go ahead.

Intel Alder lake is coming, likely, this year, and amd will respond not too far after.
Either will need a new motherboard as well as likely DDR5 ram.
