Hey, I bought a new computer 4 months ago with GTX 580, would you recommend me to upgrade it to 680? and if not, when should I upgrade?
Well it would be a 30% improvement from a 580 but I think you should wait until the 700 series of cards if you want to upgrade because your 580 is still a good card!
This is what you would be looking at or the difference between the two cards. But why upgrade when you still have a nice GPU? Save up for when the 7xx series on nVidia comes out. Good luck to you.
Thank you, I only needed opinions, I won't upgrade unless it's 100% necessary because my motherboard doesn't have PCIe 3.0 which means I'll have to upgrade the motherboard, and maybe the socket won't fit i7-2600K so I'll probably buy a new CPU.

I have a gtx 670 in a PCIE 2.o x16 slot and thats all you need, graphics cards don't take full advantage of PCIE 3.0 yet.
And it looks like the gtx 680 gives only 10 more fps than the 580.
All the 3.0 , 2.1, 2.0 and some 1.0 are all compatible with each other so you can use a 3.0 in a 2.0 MOBO and you will never even see if it makes a difference in speed. So put that out of your mind.
So if what to upgrade your card you will not have any issues at all.
