Question Should i upgrade to I5 7500

Im thinking about upgrading my cpu for gaming and light video editing.

My current specs are:
Asus H110M-k
RX 580 8GB
I3 7100
8 GB DDR4 ram (which im planning on adding another 8gb stick)
750w bronze power supply
128gb kingston ssd
1tb hard drive.


Should i upgrade to I5 7500? I don't really want to get another motherboard

The 7500 is only a small upgrade, its still 4 thread cpu. Really Id only bother if going 6700/6700k/7700/7700k. FYI you cannot overclock the k cpu's due to the motherboard but they are slightly higher clocked at stock.

Also worth noting that adding another 8gb does have a small risk of issues. RAM is best bought in matched kits.

Yes, i'm getting the same kit

Doesnt matter, even buying the exact same make and model can have issues. The chance of issues is reduced but can still happen. I have had this happen to me.
