I was wondering why Rhode Island was left out of the contest, then I came to my senses and realized because it's Rhode Island.

So you plan on giving away another Gaming Rig.
Maybe I can win this time. I've entered all the other contests!
Are the jokes in these comments really considered SMART and WITTY?
Really trying hard to come up with something for each letter here!
To all that have entered Good Luck!

At the present moment my mind is blank,
Nevermind I remembered now.
Don't cross the road when there are cars speeding closer to you.

What you think I can really come up with a smart and witty response?
If you ask me this is the best comment on the site
Then again this site encompasses soooooo much I doubt it is smart and witty enough
Though I have to enter to try to win so here is my chance
Your site gives me lots to do all day long and I am glad you are here

Thermaltake Toughpower greater than 700 watts? Gigabyte UD3R motherboard? One can only hope the GTX 460 isn't a Palit or other cheapo brand. If that's the case, then this build is PERFECT.

I retract my previous comment on the power supply and say, "Me likey."

I am surprised to see a non overclocked i7 with a liquid cooling setup installed. I would have expected it to be pre-overclcoked..lol

Good choice on the mainboard as that is the one I chose. However would have gone with a samsung F3 for the hd.. sata 6gb/s on a magnetic disk shows little to no improvement as it is limited by the rotation of the disk itself.

I am curious as to the timings on the ram though.. and a GTX 460 isn't a bad card either actually buying one for my brother..then again If I won this, I would just give it to him.. his machine is very outdated and he just got a 1080p tv so he is very unhappy with performance in his games. heck i never win anything anyway what am i thinking rofl

You saying 'Floppy Drive' made me think of those two videos. Just thought I'd share those. 😀

As the general from GRAW2 said, "I'm not 'gonna blow sunshine up your ass, son." I love everything about that build, except for the case. I for one, would have went with a nice aluminum SilverStone or Lian Li case, but I guess it would inhibit WC. Other than that, this thing beats my rig into the dirt. More so, this thing beats my rig through the dirt and into the bedrock. Really makes me want to go get 3 more 5770s and QuadFire them, but even then, it still wouldn't even be in the same league as this thing.

I would prefer to see a RAID setup on this build, or possibly the infusion of a SSD accompanied by a HDD storage drive.
I somewhat agree, but with how SSDs are progressing these days, I can understand why they held back on the SSD. Hard Drives are basically at the peak of their performance right now (I believe), and while they're generally slower, they've been perfected over the years, which is more than I can say about an SSD.

On a side note, It's a joy to go back through all nine pages of spam and see what people are saying... Tom's, you quite literally asked for everyone to pull together their best spam and dump it all right here. I'd hate to be the guy that has to read all of this. :heink:

...and on another side note, chances are I'd blow this thing up with the LCS that's in it. Never in my life have I had an actual liquid cooling loop - the closest I've come was looking at a showroom PC in BestBuy that was running a Corsair H70. *sigh* Looks like maybe I should do a little reading on liquid cooling...

Just my $0.02. Have a good day, Tom's. 😀

I didn't realize that making witty comments was as simple as ripping off awful, offensive jokes and then putting them in bold types. I'm always missing the memo on these things.

It's unfortunate that the contest is being judged on how smart and witty responses are...those sort of criteria are pretty objective to who is reading the comment.

For example, I recently told a joke to my brother, his friends, and my grandmother that involved quadriplegics and stairs cases. My brother and his friends found the joke funny, but Granny didn't.

I have been a tomshardware fan for over two years. I use Tom's and engadget for all my tech news. I just now created an account with Toms surprised that I hadn't created one already! I also love Ibuypower and cyberpower parts! Help me out with college expenses! Let me win the PC!

[citation][nom]bdcrlsn[/nom]While it looks like a decent system, I can't help but scratch my head at the GTX 460.[/citation]
[citation][nom]drhenks[/nom]Is that 2 GTX 460's I see in there?[/citation]
Yes. That's probably why you're scratching your head, there, bdcrlsn.

I agree, but at least someone here will get it either way. Maybe I'll end up saying something that will cause the judges to drop a load in their pants. ...or maybe I'll say something that gets me kicked off of the forums. You never know. :)
