[citation][nom]zipzoomflyhigh[/nom]60GB SSD for $150 (on sale) or a 1TB WD Black for $75, the choice seems easy for me, even if Windows takes 2 more seconds to load.I still get 100fps in BFBC2 even with my old mediocre C2Q and HD5850.[/citation]

If you're buying an SSD because of the faster boot time and capacity, then you're missing the point.Everyone who actually owns an SSD knows that it's all about the snappiness and responsiveness of the system. Don't you hate it when you have a high end system and whenever you click something it takes 3-5 seconds for your computer to respond just because it's waiting for your archaic HDD? Ugh! I hate that little green circle cursor so much!!!!

Don't think of SSDs as storage devices for now. Think of them as magical add-ons that make your computer 100x more responsive. Get the 60GB SSD for OS and programs AND a 1 Tera HDD for storage. A C2D+5850 with an SSD will actually "feel" faster than your C2Q+5850 and you'd still get 100fps+ BFBC2. Think about it.

[citation][nom]pwndcake[/nom]My girlfriend and I were having a conversation about what we wanted to name our children. Both of us were raised by California ex-hippies who escaped the scene with their motivation intact, but with enough scars to leave goofy names on their children. You would think that as grownups we would rebel against the idea of doing the same to our children, but both of us also grew up geek so it didn't work out that way. After rejecting names like Jedi, or Obfuscation Jones, we found a name we could both agree on - Awesome Ninja. Our eyes lit up at the same time, and we both inhaled our breath from the joy of knowing - That is the best name EVER! In my mind I could see the birth certificate, the driver's license, the awards and accolades marking their success all made out to Awesome Ninja. And so it was we agreed that our child, male or female, would be Awesome Ninja. Flash forward to tonight. My girlfriend works in a NICU taking care of sick babies. Often she gives them nicknames while they are under her care. While texting back and forth at lunch I asked if the baby she was taking care of tonight had earned a nickname yet. She said no, that she didn't know what to call her, really."Really" I replied," is a pretty good name =)"A moment later I got a phone call. "Dude!" It was my girlfriend calling. We call each other dude. Probably because we were both born and raised in Southern California. Possibly because our conversational linguistics stopped evolving after 1988. "Check it out! The best baby name ever - Really Awesome Ninja!"I was stunned. I couldn't speak. The phone dangled in my hand while I stared into the future of Really Awesome Ninja (and hopefully their clan, Really Awesome Ninja jr., the Third, and eventually - Really Awesome Ninja the Final Chapter jr.). In the back of my mind I knew a legacy had begun. Thanks to the twisted imaginations of two nerds and a random text message, the future would never be the same. But who knows when that future will come. There are no plans for the creation of said Awesome Ninja in baby human form, but looking at that system, I think I could name it Really Awesome Ninja. I'll call it RAN for short, and tell The Girlfriend it's a tribute to Akira Kurosawa. The truth would only hurt her feelings, and I'll be doing enough of that playing Civ V, Fallout: New Vegas, and Rage on that bad boy.[/citation]
I read your post and let out a hearty chortle. Not one of those under the breath mumble giggles but a gleeful utterance to wit your humor deserved.
Your post was witty and smart. Combining the values and virtues of geekdom and that of true love. Although your choice of name would most definitely endear the spirit of Akira Kurosawa as well as his good friend Tosiro Mifune with great joy and elation. I must wonder why you choose to relegate your future offspring with a second class name? I mean if you want to ensure greatness you must choose a great name. It is well known that Pirates are measures of magnitude superior to Ninjas. And armed with this knowledge shouldn't you have picked a name such as Supremely Omnipotent Pirate or Colossally Cool Corsair? For the love of God man think of the children.
I always think of the children first which is why I think it would be great to have a machine like this so that I may frag all those tweens that are constantly pounding in those darn FPS games. I little humility would do wonder for them in building character. So please keep the children in mind when awarding this great machine Tom's.

I look at your rig, now back to mine. Now back at your rig now back to mine. Sadly it isn't mine, but if I post smart&witty comments it could be mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, writing the comment your comment could look like. What did you post? Back at mine, it's a reply saying something you want to hear. Look again the reply is now diamonds. Anything is possible with Tom'sHardware & CyberPower. I'm not on a horse.

That one is amazing piece of equipment. I qould be able to get so much more encoding done for school with this system! I love how they actually are including water cooling! I really wish I had money to blow on such a nice build, because my ideal specs would be very similar to what they have selected. Whomever wins, you are one lucky dog.

I live out in the sticks and I could just see it now with my noisy neighbors... "Is that one of them there nuclear power thing a magigs?" "You know, I saw a blue glow coming from your window."
They could be noisy all they want, at least I'd be rocking a hard core Core i7 rig, that I'd never be able to afford.

Nice looking rig. Kind of a shame that it doesn't have an SSD but its still way better than my current PC. I'm still kickin it with an HD 3870 😉 It's definitely past time for an upgrade 😀

Wow, been here for a while and it's great to see Tom's encouraging their community to participate. This is awesome just for the mere fact that it's not even from a review they've done, they just want to give back to the community. Great job Tom's, love the site and glad to see you appreciate your community. Keep it up!

I am Hunter. I must say that is a very nice rig. I have been waiting for a while now to build a new rig. I am stil waiting untill I move to my next duty station to build it.
The Viper System meets all my needs and more. It has a lot of the things and also more things I would put into my own rig. The Intel Core i7-940 in it would be extremly nice, compared to my Duo E6850 running at 90% Load most of the time. Also the hard drive set up would be much ejoyed since I only have 640gb and I only have 36gb remaning. I have atleast a TB of stuff on external drives.
What catches me the most is the water cooling. I have never had hands on experience with water cooling and would love to posses it's capabilities.
It is a lovley system and I would Love to have it.
Good luck all.

Geez, does that thing ooze green blood too? Name is pretty fitting, thing looks like it can destroy a small village. I like the detachable front panel to replace the fans, my previous case I had to saw a piece of the case off because it was literally impossible to get to it. The funny thing was it looked like it was designed to allow you to replace the fan, because it had a similar detachable front, but they forgot to make the slot bigger to actually remove the fan.
