SisSoft Sandra turns Off CPU fan

Sisoft Sandra Standard Version 2000.7.6.49: Program Errors

I have a Gigabyte GA-7ZXR motherboard with a 1 Gigahertz Athlon processor. Whenever I select System Summary from the main menu and press the NEXT button, the CPU Fan turns off !!!!!!!!! The program almost cost me a processor and a motherboard ! The problem is repeatable. The fan will turn on again when I shutdown the system

I would be getting ride of that little piece of software real fast... no, don't think about it, just click unistall.

I have also had issues with Sandra since going to a KT133 based board. Nothing as bad as yours, but the program will not run the system summary. By runing each one individualy I found the culprit to be the motherboard info icon. All he other functions work fine and I continue to use them for benchmarking and reference tables.

i had the same problem with a ga-7zx-1. at the sandra website it is a known problem with the gigabyte board. now i have an epox and it doesn't do it. i think it only happens when you open the motherboard info. everything else should be ok

Yikes, that's scary..good thing you noticed there!

I've heard issues like that before whereby you restart in DOS and the CPU fan turns off.

Makes you wonder that for every person that discovered the problem, how many people got cooked processors.
