I came into all three. Not at the same time. My 3080 suprim X is a NON LHR card. and of course the 3080 ti is a LHR and the 3090 is also of course not. I've been looking into Mining however I still want to game and would rather have a separate set up for mining. Which should I keep mine with, gaming with and sell?

I can only keep two

Thanks in advance

Mine: 3080/3090.

Now, while the 3090 is higher on that list, you may have a harder time keeping it cool; many models skimped on the Vram cooling and run over 95C, which isn't good long term, so you'll have to make modifications to the card yourself to get around it.
If you can deal with the Vram thermals, then the priority definitely goes to the 3090.

Game: 3080Ti/3090.
Not as good to mine with compared to the other 2, if the whattomine link is accurate, so use it to game, or sell it.

Sell: 3090/3080Ti/3080.
The 3080Ti may be the worst one to sell. Darn good gaming performance, but with prices out there determined by mining profitability and whatnot, you might not get as much back from selling...

3080 is high in demand, and would likely be a quick sell. You may even make more money back from selling it Vs the 3080Ti. If you're already using the 3090 to mine...
3090's main customers would be miners that already know how to deal with it and people looking to use one for rendering, AI, deep learning applications. For the latter, it's like the closest thing to a Quadro card.

Yeah I'm thinking about keeping the 3080 ti for gaming. But I'm also considering the 3090 for future proofing and using the 3080 for mining

The 3090 being 'futureproof' is really questionable.
I mean, it's 24GBs of Vram - whenever that amount of ram becomes relevant, this gpu will be slower than newer, faster models with less Vram, and its resale value likely won't be as good either - except for those looking for a Quadro alternative, I guess.

How long would it take me to profit to pay for the 3080 ti or 3090?
Depends on how many hours a day you will run them, as well as energy costs in your area, amidst the fact that value keeps changing... the latter would be too hard to figure out though.

As an example[a bit oversimplified though]: Let's say you bought the 3090 at 2000USD, and you mine with it all day long.
You will break even around 336 days, or 11 months, and the money you make after that will be profit.

Instead of mining all day long, let's say you only do 12hrs a day instead.
You will break even around 667 days, or 1 year and 10 months.

How about 8hrs a day...
About a 1020 days, or 2 years and 10 months.

I feel like I would have a hard time selling the 3080 TI. the 3080 would be easy to sell along with the 3090. So I should keep one of those. I'm guessing keep the 3080 Suprim for mining and sell the 3090 and keep the 3080TI for gaming and such?

3080Ti is still a power house for graphically intense gaming, streaming and occasionally some photoshop work right?

The 3080Ti is sort of in the middle of the 3 for gaming performance - it does trade blows with the 3090 though.
Mining, it's the weakest of the 3 you have.
You can game with the 3080 and mine with the 3090, or do vice versa. The 3080Ti looks like an odd ball from that POV, because of it's inferior mining capability - compared to the other 2.
At least it games great...

Yes.

I guess it depends on how important the mining factor is for you?

If the mining performance doesn't matter as much:
Mine on 3090. If it runs too hot without modification, sell it, and make the 3080 the mining gpu. If the cooling is good, sell 3080.
Game on 3080Ti.

If mining performance does matter more:
Keep 3080 and 3090 and mine/game on them as needed.
Sell 3080Ti.

I would say they are both important to me. I want my frames high lol and I’d be new to mining. So I want something that’s good and yields good to great results.
Yeah not gonna lie. I picked up the strix because I'm a fan. Really love the look the suprim too.

Yes.

Should I even be gaming on a 3090?

A)Mine on 3090*. Game on 3080Ti. Sell 3080.
IF the Vram cooling(95C and below is ideal) requires DIY modifications, decide whether or not you want to mod it or not.
If you're ok with modding the card, 👌
If not, proceed to B.

B)Mine on 3080. Game on 3090. Sell 3080Ti.

If you just don't want to give up the 3080Ti:
C)Mine on 3080. Game on 3080Ti. Sell 3090*.
This is assuming Vram cooling wasn't adequate, and you didn't want to modify the gpu.
