some questions between 3gig and E

hey guys i bought a new cpu a 3 gig E
Unfortunely i found out afterwards that C it faster
lucky i havnt opened the box yet
Anyways im still unsure if i should i replace it... i would liek your opionions on what i should do
immnot an overclocker.. which cpu is betetr for me.. something that is faster or new technology that might be better in the future when more things support it. also wat is the "average" temperature for a 3 gig northwood and the average for a prescott temperature.. idle and max load if possible..

my system specs are
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe, 2X 256 Corsair ram 200 SATA WD HDD

i thinks thats all needed

The offical word from Intel is the max temp of P4C's is 70C. They would not give an answer for idel, depends on abient temp, what programs are running.... I know the Prescott (P4E) runs hotter than that.

I don't know, in several reviews I have read,it puts heat dissipation of P4C's at around 85 Watts and the heat dissipation of P4E's at around 105 Watts. Many posts seem to complain about how hot Prescotts run.
