Since we mostly see horror stories and problems here I thought some words of
encouragement might be in order.

I downloaded the full 266 MB SP2 (13 minute download) and burned it to a
CDR. I first tried updating an old networked desktop (desperately in need
of format and reload) and it choked. Formatted and reloaded XP Pro and the
SP2 installed smoothly. I followed that with my laptop and main desktop,
also seamless installs. Very pleased witht he result, network working fine.
I did make sure everything was updated before the upgrade. I hope the WU
version works as well for everyone.

Formatted and reloaded???

Well that sounds like quite a lot of fun if you had over fifty programs
installed, which also had updates to apply. LOL

It's amazing how many programs I put on there over the past few years and
never used. Much leaner now....and faster for an old P3 866. Now I can
start putting more unused programs on there. Heh Heh!
