Speedfan/ Intel E7200 2.53Ghz

Hi all


Question #1, I used to have Asus Ai+ suite, which would tell me fan speed,cpu + motherboard temps. Now that I have win7 I can't install it from the cd. So, I figured, i'd just use Speedfan to see my temps, and speeds. I got it installed, but I want to know how accurate is Speedfan?

Question #2, I have Intel c2d E7200 2.53ghz. And my asus software used to display 40-42C well I was just browesing,downloading, watching movies. I do use the Stock heatsink for a couple more days. Anyways, now that no more asus software, Speedfan is showing the followings;

Gpu 50C
System 34C
Cpu 43-45C
Aux 31C
Core0 49-53C
Core1 49-53C

are these temps accurate?normal?should I be worried?Again, i'm planning to rplace the cpu cooler with either a Arctic Cooler pro 7 rev2 or with Cooler Master 212+

Oh, the graphic card is a Gainward Bliss 8600GT 512Mb.

Your temps are normal. You may not need to replace the stock heatsink if you're happy with the noise level. I turned mine down in the bios with the manual settings, which makes the temps a little higher. But I'm not worried, since the cpu comes with a 3 year warranty. I will change it by the time the warranty is expired. Can't tell you how accurate the readings are; you can use the reset button and quickly get into the bios to check how closely they match.

thanks for your reply! However I'm trying to keep this cpu longer than its' warranty is for. Which in my case, I got 1 year on it, long done(almost 2years). Yeah, my country is like this..

Those sound about right, CPUs tend to get hotter over time if you don't clean out the dust. Take some compressed air to your heatsink and see if you can drop your temps.

They aren't too bad, remember you can run up to 70c and be considered 'safe'.

I wouldn't be worried about your temps the way they are. I've seen hotter CPUs last for years. CPUs usually out-live the rest of the PC (in my experience).

thanks for your reply! Well I'm getting a CM Hyper 212+ cooler, and I will ask for my cpu to be cleaned as well. I'll let you guys know what temps I get.

Oh I just meant your current heatsink. Once you get your new one there will be no cleaning required besides thermal paste, and whoever is swapping for you I'm sure will do so.
