[SOLVED] SSD information request

I've been using a 120GB SSD and to my knowledge an SSD has a fixed capacity for creating, copy/pasting and downloading data. Therefore I've been using external drives for some heavy files and folders.

I'm curious to know that:

1) What is the total capacity for creating, copy/pasting and downloading data ?

2) How many GB's have been used up and how many do I have remaining? Is there some kind of a software/application that I can use ?

Looking forward to all positve responses.

Thank you.

All drives have fixed capacity. There are no storage devices with dynamic capacity.
SSDs have write endurance limits.
Endurance limits depend on a particular SSD model. You can find those numbers in SSD manufacturer support web site.

Values for total writes of your SSD you can find with SSD manufacturer SSD tool. Each manufacturer has a specific software for this. It can be downloaded...

HWInfo64 can also tell you the total amount of writes to the drive.

It's not likely you need to worry about it. Possible, but unlikely.

The drive manufacturer might try to deny a warranty claim if the TBW rating was exceeded. But that would have no impact after the warranty period.

SSDs will usually last well beyond the TBW rating. Mine has a TBW rating of only 72 TB. It is 6 years old and has a total of 42 TB written as of right now. Estimated life remaining is 75%, No issues with it at all.
