Hi guys!
So I got my hand on one of those Plextor M8PeG M.2 drives and I am wondering how do I go about using it in my system.
So my current drive setup looks like this:
two ADATA XPG SX900 256GB SSDs - one of which has a 100GB system partition and 140GB gaming partition. Other SSD is used for games only. I also have two mechanical drives for storage, but they're not important here.
My motherboard in an Asus Z170-A
So since I don't have much time lately my plan is to clone that system partition on to the M.2 Plextor, format that partition on the ADATA and done. But then I started thinking - maybe I should clone the windows partition and after that wipe those ADATAs and set up RAID 0? or maybe I should just do a clean install on the Plextor?
So what I've done up until now is I've installed the Plextor to see if it's ok and run some benchmarks and..
So here are my questions:

what software do I use to clone?
do I need to make a partition the size of a cloned one on the destination drive or can I just clone it on a bigger partition?
would a RAID array have any benefits for me? (gaming and a lot of editing)
does cloning a system partition bring up any types of problems afterwards?
    what would YOU recommend?

As for cloning, EaseUS Partition Master is a good program to use. The program will take you step by step through the process of cloning and does most of the work for you.
As for RAID it all depends on what you want, RAID 0 for faster speeds but less stable programs or you use the partition manager to combine them into one storage space with no speed benefit.
Cloning the OS only causes problems if did wrong but you still have the OS on your original ssd so you can retry until its right.
In conclusion, I believe its an excellent option to clone the OS to the M.2, the read/write speeds are just insane.

Yeah, I've tried EaseUS, but there seems to be a problem - because system partition gets a different drive letter when cloned - A: - while the EFI partition still points to a Windows instalation on drive C: and you can't change the drive letter on a system partition without screwing it up, at least to my knowledge.. Guess I'm gonna have to do a fresh install..
