Starfield PC Performance: How Much GPU Do You Need?

Its got its own spin on it and you can create some very interesting builds and do some very compelling things. Make sure you visit your Holo House and do fishing, it get you tons of currency, and per game boosts if you cook!

Thanks a lot Jarred for this set of tests, but could I ask what would the expected result be for a RTX 3090 Ti 24GB GDDR6X Video Card? Do you have one you could use to test?

Let's go back to the beginning. My adult son recently bought Starfield only to find his 5 year old Gaming Rig could only play it on the lowest of the low settings, and even then it wasn't good. So he's asked me to build his next Box, which he is going to pay for the parts. We figure he can only afford a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti AERO OC 8G Graphics Card (at maximum). But I have a line on a RTX 3090 Ti 24GB GDDR6X Video Card which I may be able to get at a similar price. What current Card would equal the performance of this card, not only for Starfield, but for most other games ?

I know that it would not run well but I would love to see an rx550 (at 1080p ultra if possible) tested because I want a point of comparison between my old GPU and my new one.

A 3090 Ti will typically perform somewhere between a 4070 Ti and a 4080. It will perform far better than a 4060 Ti (albeit while consuming much more power).

According to this update

• Various stability and performance improvements to reduce crashes and improve framerate.

Glad I haven't started the game yet, bring on that "fine wine" maturing asap!

Where are the patch notes?, I click on the button for patch notes & it refeshs the screen with the exact same info again - no patch notes, only the button for it again.

i had no issues with hand scanner, but xbox folks were complaining about it before patch

patchnotes mentions fixed characters not in their corerct positions, but neon star tech still swimming in water, many quests still bugged coz npcs just fly offworld
