When I start my computer there are several programs that automatically start.
I don't want anything to start automatically. How can fix this? How do I
know which programs I can stop on the task manager?

Go to Start | Run and type
msconfig
On the Startup tab uncheck the programs you don't want to start.

For files that start up that you do not recognize here is a web site to
look them up. http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/browse.php?l=0
