I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I'm having a strange IE problem.

Most of the links in IE are dead. When I mouse over they seem normal but go nowhere when clicked or if they do, it goes to a blank page with done at the bottom.

I also cannot goto the windows update page but it is still doing the auto-updates for me. At least it is turned on and says Im up to date.

If I click help, there is no version info for internet explorer in the box. I have uninstalled IE and reinstalled it but that still doesn't fix it. I have had no viruses that i know of and I keep a pretty clean machine. This is a work computer and used to be a server for some parts lookup programs.

All software changes that have been made were made to all other machines, but they work fine.

I have also tried to repair windows but that didn't seem to work.

thanks,

Does Explorer work right?
So have you tried Firefox yet?
It is a bit of a pain, but install stuff like avg, adaware6, spybot search and destroy. Run them and see what they say about the system health.
It may be easier to save what you don't want to lose and do a clean install!

I have tried all of those. I'm replying to this using IE. It works fine here but it gives me problems on other sites. Not sure if it is a security thing or not yet.

I know I'm going to have to reload windows, but I was hoping for a work-around so I didn't have to do that during the busy season for us.

Thanks..

Been busy here at work and just got around to trying that link.

Can't click on the "agree" button. Doesn't even act like its clickable.

Thanks, though. 🙁

I hope that is it but I have my doubts. I have been having this problem since sometime after the first.(read: noticed it because I mostly use mozilla, but John Deere made their site IE only around the first of the year so now I have to use it)

Like I said in my first post. I click on help in IE for my version info and it is blank, nothing. I have tried to reinstall from the CD but it tells me I am already up to date. Is there a repair option for IE?

I just HATE the idea of reinstalling windows because IE doesn't work... Computer runs great except for this.

Thanks guys..

*edit* WMP doesn't work either... Hmmmm...
