I bought a mobo and cpu all through partspc.com and the fan that came with it sucks. So im going to send it back RMA and get a new. But my choices are limited. What should I get that will cool my AMD the best with the least amount of racket!
1. Swiftech
2. ThermalTake
3. CoolerMaster
or should I see if I can get my money back fomr the return(instead of credit) and go somewhere else? Noise really bothers me.

I like thermalright coolers:

If you wanna use 6cm fans the SK6+ is very good...
W/ 8cm fans the SK7, ax7 or SLK800/900 are good too, make sure it fits in your MOBO

CoolerMaster's are pretty good bang for the buck...
And keep the newer XP's good and cool, low 40C's ( even OC'd)
And generally run pretty quiet...

But every now and then ya get one that whistles...
Don't know why, but some whistle, and some don't,
like the same model, 6I31C, and 1 outa 3 will whistle!
(but they do always cool well...)

anyone know how good the thermaltake volcaonoe 11 xaser is? its farily inexpensive, and seems to have a good range of speeds for the fan, so if anyone knows how it compares to more expensive coolers thatd be good

i had a stock hsf that was loud so i wired it so it runs at 7 volts, much quieter now. only raised a couple degrees

I love my volcano 11. I mounted the speed controller knob to the front and it looks sweet. I run at almost the quietest setting and I have never seen temps over 50 on my moderately overclocked 2500+.
