Question Sudden OS errors and restarts

I have had my computer since the beginning of 2019 and have had zero problems with it. However recently it will just randomly kick to an error screen with the most common error being "Whea Uncorrectable error." The computer will restart fine, sometimes having the same problem in a few hours. On top of that sometimes my monitors will go dark as well as the light in my computer, everything gets quiet and then it all comes back on very quickly. If I am playing a game it doesn't close or restarts it just resumes but puts my resolution very low and I have to go back and change it. Only once has everything plugged into the same outlet as my computer has gone out. I am very knowledgable in a lot of this stuff so anything could and would be appreciated. thanks!

What make/model?

whea = windows hardware error architecture
its an error called by CPU but not necessarily caused by it.
Can be caused by heat so maybe clean case out
can be caused by any hardware
can be caused by overclocking so remove any you have.
can be caused by overclocking software such as MSI Afterburner, Asus GPU Tweak
can sometimes be caused by old device drivers

can be fixed by updating BIOs

Can you follow option one on the following link - here - and then do this step below: Small memory dumps - Have Windows Create a Small Memory Dump (Minidump) on BSOD - that creates a file in c windows/minidump after the next BSOD

  • copy that file to documents
  • upload the copy from documents to a file sharing web site,
  • and share the link in your thread so we can help fix the problem
Dump files may show a driver name if we lucky.

I got my pc from a prebuild website and for power supply, it just says "800 Watts - Standard 80 Plus Gold Certified Power Supply " and there are no stickers or names on the actual unit.

The case is cleaned on the regular and I have never overclocked it.

I have created the minidump location and will wait for the next BSOD to occur.

Also never NEVER go with the CyberPower Standard PSU. The forums on the CyberPower site is filled with people complaining about their system smelling of smoke and not working and 95% of the time it's because they went with the standard PSU. People really should ask for help before ordering a custom PC because it's up to the consumer to choose the components that go into the machine. It's obvious CyberPower doesn't truly care about what their customers order. They probably make more money when you order their standard PSU and make even more money when your system blows up after the warranty expires.

Accidentally got the Cyberpower standard power supply, am I screwed?

So I ordered a computer from Cyberpower and after ordering I did a little research on the power supply because of have never heard of a "Standard" power supply. Most of the reviews said that it can break your computer and I can't cancel and reorder because I ordered this on blackfriday.

We aren't saying its cause of BSOD as we haven't seen any of the crash dumps yet, but its high on list of possible causes.

ive been gone for the last month but now that im back i got a crash.

Download HWINFO - https://www.hwinfo.com/download/
when you run it, click on the tick box next to Show sensors and click run
in next window, click the button to the right of the clock, that says "Logging start" when hovered over
it opens file explorer and lets you create a log file with a name you will remember.
create a new log file each day and keep it running until you crash.
the output is a CSV file, it can be read in Excel or Google Docs.
upload to a file sharing website and we see what it says

Do i need to worry about the minidump folder previously created?

  1. Open Windows File Explorer
  2. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump
  3. Copy the mini-dump files out onto your Desktop
  4. Do not use Winzip, use the built in facility in Windows
  5. Select those files on your Desktop, right click them and choose 'Send to' - Compressed (zipped) folder
  6. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.)
  7. Then post a link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you . . .

It looks like you opened the dump file in a text editor, then resaved that as a text file, then uploaded it. You can't do that. When you resave it in a text editor, it loses half of it's information.

Open the minidump folder and copy the file to your desktop or documents folder first. Then upload it from there.
