Error code: (NTSTATUS) 0xc000000d (3221225485) - An invalid parameter was passed to a service or function.

generally this would mean that the version of the audio service does not match the version of the installed audio device driver.
or you have a audio driver that is responding to another audio drivers service. (known bug on old realtek sound drivers before some time in 2019)

generally, you would want to disable sound devices that you do not have speakers connected to.
if you have a usb sound device go into windows control panel, find the menu item to show hidden devices then delete all of the greyed out devices the list.

the error was coming out the windows wow64 32 bit subsystem.
sound app talks to sound service which talks to sound driver. service version not matched with sound driver version

i think i found it. in the device manager do i have to delete them from the A - 'audio inputs and outputs' or B - 'sound, video, and game controllers'? or maybe both?

i have disabled all but 2 my speakers and my headset. or do i need to disable the 1 of them aswell?
see if you still bugcheck
check for firmware updates for your headset and any software updates for the headset and the drivers for other two speakers

you can also search your drive for the file sSurroundSound.dll_unloaded to see what device had the problem. most likely it will be software for the headset.

i had deleted a few and when windows started the next time i was greeted with a realtek audio installer.

i searched for the .dll file but nothing came up. i also had a windows update that installed so i think it's now ait and see.

software is from
a-volute
then sold to various sound hardware vendors

9earssurroundsound .dll

the procedure to update would be go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website
download the most current version of the software that matches your version of windows. download the driver, uncompress it, then make a directory like c:\sound then copy the uncompressed files to that directory.

then you need to start task manager, find the services and find the service for a-volute and stop the service.

then start control panel, find device manager, find the device for a-volute,
(it could be a sound device, a software device or sound device)
right mouse click, select update driver, select browse my computer for drivers.
select search for drivers in this location
then enter in the path c:\sound
(or where ever you put the driver) and attempt a install.
then reboot and the service will be restarted.
