Hello, soon i'll be swapping my MSI a320m motherboard with the MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard.
Is there anything I have to know or I gotta do before swapping?

Extra question:
Can I use the same CPU in a new motherboard? Im using the Ryzen 5 2600.

Thanks.

OK then...a full clean install on the new drive and system is strongly recommended...:)

You should find the list of supported CPU's at the MSI home page.

If you using Linux or BSD, there is almost no risk something goes wrong, exept if there is something wrong with the new mainboard.

In windows however, you have drivers installed that may or may not work with new hardware. If the chipset is the same, it is greater chance that a swap can be done just straight forward.

That is a 100% maybe.
The closer the two parts are, the more likely it is to 'just work'.

The OS licensing/activation will be affected, though.

Why are you switching motherboards?

Im planning on buying an M.2 ssd also a better GPU and RAM. If I have all that my motherboard is behind + it doesn't support M.2.

Given that level of parts swap and OS, chances are somewhat 'good' for it to just boot up in the new hardware with no operational issues.

chances are somewhat 'good' is not a 100% guarantee, though.
It might fail.

Are you planning to use the 970 as your new OS drive, or leave it on the 860 EVO?

I wanna use the 970 since its a bit faster.
