I am trying restore a hp pavilion 533w using the 8 restore disks that
came with the system. Someone had attempted a restore and I think the
formatted the drive. I have managed to load up to disk 7 by shutting
down and restarting when some files "could not be restored". Have been
trying for 2 days to get disk 7 to load. Loads to 9% then "app17035
cannot be recovered" System came with windows XP installed. Celeron
2000MHz/400MHz,
256 mb ram.

You probably need a new copy of the install media.

Try cleaning the restore disk. Use a soft cloth and warm water. Make
sure it is completely dry before putting it back into the drive.

Good luck
