When I open task manager on my pc all i see is the box with processes running
in it, there are no tabs at the top of the window to switch between the
different parts of task manager. I think i typed a shortcut by accident to
make this happen. Could anyone tell me how to change it back?

Double click the window outside of the list of processes.

This behavior can occur if Task Manager is running in Tiny Footprint mode.
To switch Task Manager to its normal display mode, double-click the top
border of the window.
