What is a good tempp for the cpu? Right now I have a temp of 56 f no just running windows. Is this too high or will it be ok? I will be getting into games as soon as I get it all the drivers installed. What is a good target range to be in. I am runninga p4 3.0 with a Thermalright SP-94 Heatsink, 80mm Vantec Tornado Fan, 4 fans in the case. Lian-Li case.

Thanks!

Very Sick. You need to see a doctor for that and not put a lnk for us to see. I could care less what you do as long as I don't have to see it or the results.

Is that a P4C or P4E (P4E is the presscot processor with a 1 meg l2 cache). It is very high for P4C, probably high for P4E. Here is the standard list of things to check.

Do you have a thermal conductor on cpu and heatrsink-Artic Silver is the best, stock, heat sink should have a small square in center.
Is the heatsink properly attached to processor-this is often times the issue-no insult, just common. Try reseating just becouse.
Try changing the direction of the fans, by doing that, I lower my m/b and cpu temp by 5C.
Where are you getting this temp number-m/b monitor? They can be often be wrong.
hope this helps
:)

I have an areogate 2 that gives me the temp. I do have a P4C installed. the temp is in F not C. I will try the things you gave as an idea. Thanks!

I question the accuracy of your temp, it converts to 13.33C, this would be great, if it is accurate. If you are just using a heatsink and fan, how could you get the temp lower than ambient?

Heheheheh, 22C is room tempurature, 72F.

Sounds like you've identified the mobo's ambient temp probe.

The basic Rule: If it doesn't crash, it's fine.

If you're suffering sudden lockups etc. Then you may have a problem. if not, don't bother worrying about it. And unless all four of your case fans are blowing inwards, or are off, your temperature should be fine.

Yeah it is a bit loud, but not bad. Bareable. I was not sure what is too hot. I did some research on Tom's for help to build the pc and was told what I decided on would keep it cool, but will be loud.
