A D5...does the job nicely, and pretty quiet to boot

Man...if I was running a 750 on my setup I would be kicking my own a** right about now. Thankfully that's not the case 😉

That's not bad at all...score is pretty much right where it should be considering those clock speeds!

I see you've bought the sleeving comb stickg1 any comments to make before I go ahead and pick a few out for my Splash build?

D5's are amazing piece of hardware but the MCP35x is no slouch. In fact if you've done your research properly, the specified pumps have their own place in a rig - either head pressure or flow :)

I also think Mac's are an abomination next to a custom build 😛 My opinion though.

If you're interested in a modular PSU for your Matx SFF grade build, hang on a bit, Silverstone is going to launch their SFX PSU version in a 600W flavor. Most exciting piece of hardware news I've heard till date(aside from the Torq-x).

Ehhh I'm not sure to be honest lol. I just have my gtx 770, and instead of having it laying around, I might just use it and build my work PC for those programs with that card.

I have seen quadro cards, but sadly, the locate retailer doesn't have them on the store and wait for them to ship it to the store. And they cost more.

I usually work on Autocad, Skecthup and have also used Maya. They apparently run better on AMD cards. But I'd ask you to look through the software makers system req's since they can add updates to their supported GPU list.

Adobe is one maker that has recently updated their list to include Nvidia cards where up until CS6's initial release they didn't support Nvidia.

If you are going to be doing renders and really heavy duty calculations like (heavy duty)voronoi tessellations, get the Nvidia - cuda cores help it through those areas but again, spec it out on software makers site :)

What if I told you my job purchased the iMac for me, and it's the 27" late 2013 version (I7 4770, Gtx775m, 8gb ram, 1440p, etc) lol...

Personally I don't care much for macs, and I would probably never purchase one for myself (unless Apple pulls a 180 and starts making them completely modular like PC's), but it is an amazing piece of hardware in and of itself. It has it's place and it's uses...and it was free....

They're okay. They spread the wires out more than I'd like. He came out with a new comb called the stealth thats lower profile but you have to actually run all the wires through the holes before you put the connectors back on. There is a different company that sells combs like mine that are lower profile. They're a European company I can't recall the name or website, I saw them in the cable sleeving thread at OCN a few days ago. I don't have time to look it up right now, running late for work!

You can run pretty much any graphical software off of the onboard but when time comes to deal with heavy files(layers) then you will effectively be in the water among sharks when it comes to meeting deadlines.

Funny, yes, but the GPU's true power comes out when you render or perform tasks handicapped on an onboard GPU.

During my student years in architecture I built my own system with whatever I saved and ran off the DG965RY board(onboard GPU)+E4300 the moment I worked on more than 2 layers on Adobe Photohsop 7(i think) or Corel Draw X4, it'd take ages to work through them. Fortunately I grabbed a 8600GT Fatal1ty(passive edition) alongside more ram and things went smoother from there on with ahem gaming sessions + productivity 😀

I'm not trying to spend anywhere close to that money. There are ALOT of units that are WAY cheaper and still maintain the same high quality OEMs.

I know this. I currently have one of the best 750w PSUs out there in terms of quality. I am not, in any way, in need of a new PSU. I simply thought it would be cool to have a modular one for cable management possibilities. I do not NEED one by any means at all.
