Yeah, I don't ever really plan to have a huge case like that so eventually a modular PSU would be nice. I might just make mine semi modular or more than likely I will just wait and use thing until the next round of upgrades in a few years when I will replace it and most of the rest of the system.

I do not NEED one by any means at all.
Well why didn't you say so in the first place? 😛 Modular units or not, unless your current PSU is going strong, then there isn't an imminent need for buying a new one. Since you've mentioned quality, the HCG is one of the best, I agree and it won't take your machine out like the 4th of July celebrations.

Sit back and look at the (other)finer things in life.

Guys Im getting small coil whine again.....its very annoying. I know it doesnt affect performance but i hate it. Even if I dont hear it. I dont WANT it. any ideas? fans are at 30% and it was 52c while gaming but its still very annoying. If I turn the PSU fan off hyrbrid will that help it draw more power or not and why am i getting it? (Talking about GPU)

EDIT:Fans were on auto so it was 20% but I made it stuck at 30% So it doesnt change. Basically I have to change in manually, so..?

I put my ear against it and when I move my plane up and down in warthunder, The coil wine goes with it. So yes, it is the GPU. How do make sure its a fan? I hope its a case fan but how do i verify? I doubt its a fan though since the card got hot and I heard it coming from the card.

When i said fans were on 2% I meant 20%. Typo.

Ok fans are on auto and it dropped to 20% so i guess it needs 20%. I shouldnt assume its the GPU, Should I game and listen to the PSU? Again , I Doubt its a PSU cause Its a dual chamber case and I wouldnt hear it....
So any ideas? Some say OC a bit to make it draw more power. What do you think?

I would not overclock the GPU. It is not the right way to fix it. IF it is the GPU, I would just RMA it.

Run a benchmark and press your ear against the PSU. Same with the GPU. Get as close as you can without touching it while it is running. Remove the side panel and put your ear right up to it.

It doesn't matter where you bought it. You RMA through the the manufacturer. Sapphire would be who you send it to. You create an RMA ticket on their website and then mail it off, and they send you a new one.

I RMA'd a USED card I bought off amazon. No problems at all.

Ok...I can verify It WAS indeed from the GPU. it isnt HORRIBLE LOUD type of coil whine...just....I dont like it. The second I exit the benchmark i heard some clear coil whine...louder than while it was benchmarking.

I dont think My dad would want to RMA it....Do I Have to pay to mail it to them?

But that would be a final option if even an option. Any other ideas?

Yes, you pay to mail it to them but they pay to mail the new one back. It is easy to RMA stuff. I've done it many times.

Coil whine is just something that happens. It could go away with time, or it might not. You never know. If it really bothers you, I would RMA it, as it is a component you will have for a long time.

I have to go to class now. I might be able to play minecraft later though. 3:00 EST.

I would get over it if it's not really bad because I don't think they'll RMA over "light coil whine". Would be foolish to send a card in only to get the same card back and they make you pay for return shipping.

Yeah i saw someone do that with crysis...Hmm...Minecraft doesnt.....Maybe Warthunder does.....Ill do that (Before I go to bed) And 3 nights a row right?
I always use vsync but should i turn it off for the overnight thing? so that it goes up to over 100fps?

There is no menu in game for coil whine tests. Lol. You just have to find a game that runs the GPU at max% while you are in the pause menu. Open MSI afterburner and pause alot of games. Whichever one gets the card to sit at 100% usage is what you want to use. There is NO coil while setting.
