I don't see how we could easily add reviews with this forum layout. The whole point of a tier list is to be an easy reference list and RealhardtechX already has their excellent database. Maybe post a link to it and tell people to go there for more detailed information.

That Coolermaster GX II should be tier 4 or 5. I guess it's 4 when it works

After further thought, I think the Corsair HXi needs to go back in tier 1 with a note beside the 1000w model that it was excellent in testing from jonnyguru and still very good in testing from HardOCP but not quite excellent.

The darker yellow (or is it orange?) looks great. Thanks for changing that. I must be one of the 12% 😛

BTW, this is what the drop-in tutorial looks like for choosing PSUs :)

The only CX made by Seasonic was the discontinued CX400 and while it tested well it's the only CX I've actually had die on me in a build I did for my uncle.

The first gen CX weren't 80 Plus certified at all. The V2 was 80 Plus certified and the V3 ( not labeled as such ) are 80 Plus Bronze and have a more powerful 12v rail.

EVGA SuperNova NEX 650 Gold unlisted. Available but no reviews. Should be put into either untiered or Tier 2b.
----------------
FirePower ZT Series is listed as being a Sirtec design, despite it being from Great Wall. Not sure if this affects your tiering.

Don't these seem to be conflicting results? How can it be BOTH exceeding the +12V ATX spec and have GOOD +12V regulation?

•Good price/performance ratio
•Tight voltage regulation at +12V
•Handled full power at over 50°C operating temperature
•Good performance in Advanced Transient Response and Turn on Transient Tests
•Silent fan

•Loose voltage regulation on the minor rails (5V & 3.3V)
•+12V and 5V exceeded ATX voltage regulation limits at Crossload 1 test

If these test results are accurate I'm unsure it should be a Tier 2A unit. Maybe 2B?

How can it be put into tier 2B if it's untested and there are no testing reviews? We've seen numerous series with different models that did not have the same indications during testing. Have you tested it?

^agree. No matter how well the rest of the tests went or how household the name is, if the 12v/5v goes out or regulation limits it should be tier 4. That is what damages components. NO WAY would I ever recommend a unit with a review like that. Hell, even the CX units don't go out of spec, but we don't recommend those for other reasons.

That's a review from back in 2011 before the Intel Haswell processor appeared. Crossloading, as what would happen in their CL1 test, would not have occurred with the technology available back then.

You wouldn't want to use that PSU in a Haswell build today if you want to use C6/C7 power state support because that CL1 test shows what would happen with that old group regulated design.

Hey. Wich PSU should i get? I currently have this:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.80 GHz

Ram: 16.0 GB DDR3-1600 Kingston 4GB HyperX

64 Bit - Windows 7

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7970

PSU: RaidMax RX-850AE 80+ Gold

Chipset: MB2011 Gigabite x79/UD3

Cooling? :CPUK Intel BXRTS2011AC Heat Sink

It needs to run 2x 4K monitors, and i think of getting a GTX 980, but wich PSU should i get to match it?

I would suggest you replace that PSU IMMEDIATELY. The ones I'd get are either the Rosewill Capstone 750-M or the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 g2 is you have the intention to SLI or the Capstone 550 if you won't SLI. You can also get a quality XFX 550 watt 80+ Bronze unit if you wish to save money.

I cant find that PSU in Denmark.

I dont wish to save Money if it Means worse quality.

I looked at this guide "the power supply unit tier list, and looked up the corsair ax1500i and the Evga supernova p2.

i thought the Price on the corsair was a Little too mutch, but the pricerange of the evga supernova p2 is okay, its about 250 dollars, if you think the right one costs 300+ it`s not a problem.

Thanks for the reply! hope to know what i need to know soon, so i can buy tomorrow, the current setup dont run smooth at all.

Am i better suited getting a Whole new PC for dual 4K?

There are more info of my system in this thread if needet: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2384604/missing-dual.html#xtor=EPR-8809

And thanks for replying!

Many thanks!

Is Evga supernova p2 not worth the Price over evga 220 g2 0750 xr ?

Sorry to ask kind of the same Again, but i am almost clueless, and i rather have a Little to mutch power than a Little to less, and my old PSU was 850W, so shouldnt the new be higher? Sorry! :)
