It's okay.
The extra 1-2% of efficiency is NOT worth the 50< euros more you pay. Even if you are a power consumption-conscious guy, it would take ~5-15 years for the PSU to pay for the difference between it and the g2, and by that time, I'm pretty sure you'll be needing a new PSU.

Wait wait wait, you are considering buying one GTX 980 and you are looking at a 1500w power supply? That's crazy. Even with 4 x GTX 980s in 4 way Sli you only need 1150 watts. A system with a single GTX 980 only needs a 520w power supply.

And since people looking at the Tier list ARE wanting to use it with current hardware, seems that would indicate it should be on a Tier that relates to use of it with current hardware, which isn't probably Tier 2A. If it can't be used with Haswell I wouldn't want it listed at it's current position I think.

Thanks for the link anort3. I have no idea what a graphic Card use, just assumed a newer GPU would need a PSU with more W than what i have now. I will get the one linked to by zeyuanfu : evga 220 g2 0750 xr and the GTX 980.
then i hope it runs smooth in 60 Hz. 😉

Do you think it`s to difficult to install myself?

Btw. it was "only" 1000W the other PSU i was looking at. :)

Only the 750w and 850w versions of the M12 II Bronze Evo edition are Haswell ready, the 620w unit is not. No models of the S12 II Bronze are.

Seasonic has never claimed Haswell compatibility for any of their group regulated design PSU's.

They are already listed in Tier Three.

UPDATE November 25th 2014

I decided to add a couple of Silverpower units into the tier list since they are still being made to this day. Also, I have added a few PSUs that were announced via RalHardTechX, one of which you won't expect. Can you guess which one? :)

Another set of units added are some of Super Flower's lower end PSUs. I just thought they have been neglected for long enough.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...

Added PSUs to tiers are the following -

Currently un-tiered -

Club3d CSP Gold 750 / 850w
Cooler Master B series v2
Cougar A series
Rosewill Valens series
Zalman GVM series

Tier One -

Super Flower
Golden King series
Golden Silent series 430w

Tier Two Class A -

Silverpower
SP 460w Fully Modular
SP Semi-modular

Super Flower Golden Green / Modular / HX series

Why is Tier 2 split into A and B where everything else is just a tier?

Second question, is there much of a real world difference between a Tier 1 and a Tier 2A?

The tier 1 PSUs have the most modern, most efficient architectures available. Tier 2A are extremely reliable but might be based on older designs with less bling features. I personally like to buy from 2A. I know they will hold up to overclocking abuse, and I don't need platinum/diamond efficiency.

It's kind of silly, really, but changing things around might cause more problems than good. Example: If you didn't know that the list was re-tiered, and you skipped down to group three, not realizing that those were actually the old 2Bs.

The Tom's list is a bit more comprehensive though and has brands that RealhardtechX doesn't bother with. So it is useful sometimes when you need to find an OEM.
