That's a really helpful list, helped me cutting some options!

Now I'm working on my first build which will be:

Intel Core i5 4690
GTX 770 2GB
GA Z97X UD3H-BK
WD Caviar Blue 1TB 64MB
G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB (2x4GB) 1866MHz cas9
TOSHIBA 128GB SSD
+2 more fans (1 at the side and 1 at the back of the case)

1. The question is, will a 620/650W PSU be enough for this system? Will it have some spare capacity for future upgrades?

2. If so, which should I purchase?

Seasonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze
Corsair TX650M 650W 80+ Bronze

Note: Don't know if this matters to help choosing, but my case will have the PSU at the bottom.

Sorry for the long question(s) and thanks in advance.

1.) Yes, and yes.

2.) Neither. The Corsair TX is an 8 year old, discontinued Bronze rated platform you can do better cheaper.

The Seasonic is not compatible with the low power Haswell C states. You would need to disable them in BIOS. It's also an older design.

I would look at 550-650w XFX 80 Plus Gold units or something like the Seasonic G series or the good EVGA units if you can find them on sale.

But both my choices are in Tier 2:

Seasonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze
Corsair TX650M 650W 80+ Bronze

Still some guys advised me here to don't buy those, why are they still in Tier 2 if they're not of any good?

xfx proseries 650w modular 80plus bronze
XFX TS 650W 80 PLUS Bronze
XFX TS 650W 80 PLUS GOLD

Which should I get?

2A are the best, just without the frills. 2B still really good but perhaps lacking in something nonessential like fan noise or extra filtering.

I would recommend dottorent upload the new tier list to Google Documents, if it hasn't been done already, and post a shared link to it. That way, revisions can be made without much hassle, and if he's able to post it in the original post, that would be helpful as well... Just a thought I had.

Might even consider making a new thread with the new tier list's link as the unofficial new list, if the forum bug doesn't allow for a basic update like that in this one. There's other options to consider too; blog posts would be a decent free alternative (as long as you can update them), and I'm sure making a free webpage that would host the tier list is a decent option (albeit more of a hassle). That would at least allow for updates, changes, and new submissions to be added to the current tier list, and also be linked via the TH forum for those who want to see the updated list.

Again, just a thought. I don't know what options have already been considered and discussed.

Apparently, you had a regex sent to you that the temporary spamfilter was based on.

It's the line with the ThermalTake Toughpower:
Toughpower 1200M 1350M 1500M

(not sure why this is letting me post it - it's possible it's been updated or there's a mod exception. Testing further.)

Thanks for the effort. :)

i know you guys mught call me an idiot for doing this but i tried the raidmax out ( i know risky and stupid but i just couldn't wait) and it works like a charm. Very quiet, more then enough energy for all components and does not get very hot. I know most of them were probably faulty and in some cases ruined computers but luckily mines been working for 5 days now no problem.

Terrible idea. Replace it before it ends your computer's life or burns down your house.

Just because it works for a few days means nothing. It is still likely providing the wrong voltages, and harming your components. People think that if a PSU "works" that it is safe. This is 100% not true at all. replace it ASAP.

The above is very right. A cap might blow, and that might mean the end of your computer parts, your property or even (maybe) your life. Have a look around Youtube, where there are tons of videos of PSUs exploding.

Here are a few examples:

Why I never recommend CX PSUs:

Something like this could happen with your PSU:

Hello

Have you already checked the Cooler Master B500 V2 ? It's seems better than the old version (456W on +12V and 80+), is it still use same caps inside ?

Honestly, and I say this all the time, I don't know why people ask for advice of people with experience in whatever field it may be, not just here, but in general, and then entirely disregard everything they are told even when there is a consensus opinion among those volunteering assistance? All I can say is, when you have to buy all your hardware, or even some of it, all over again, don't feel sorry for yourself as you could have prevented the failure by only listening to those who have been down that road and back many times. Hopefully that doesn't happen in your case, but with a Raidmax unit, the probability is high, extremely high.

I'm guessing with that price tag then these are even better than the Leadex?
