I'm a fan of the good Super Flower PSUs, but don't get me wrong, they do have some stinkers in the very low end platforms that are equivalent to CX (or worse). Luckily what we see rebranded are the good ones like Leadex, Golden King, Golden Silent, and Golden Green HX (the other Golden Green is lower quality).
Alright cool 😀, Ended up spending like an extra £30 on a PSU but hopefully it will be worth it. And ordering a r9 290 tri-x at £215, was going to get a gtx 960 for around £180 so for the extra £35 I can get a way better card which is also suppose to be quiet. 😀
Thanks for the help.
No problem. Don't forget to register the EVGA PSU within 30days of purchase. Register the PSU and then they will extend the warranty to 10 years.
Your PSU is important, it is the heart of the pc and should not be scrimped on at all. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks for mentioning that as I had forgotten to register my new G2. I had one day left.

Hx is the lower quality one with capxon caps, the regular golden green is the best with quality japanese caps, still both are good ones in terms of voltage regulation and ripple but i recommend xfx or antec tpc at the same price because they use better caps

Where's your proof?
The Corsair HX Series have always used exclusively Japanese 105°C rated caps on both the primary and secondary sides of the PSUs.

Just got my G2 and its great the eco switch is brilliant. Just wondering though there's a coil whine when the pc is off although I have read this is normal with other PSU's.
My G2 has no coil whine. I have not however attempted to use the ECO mode so I can't speak to whether it's normal in that use or not, but I would tend to think that there should not be coil whine regardless of method employed.
There is 0 coil whine when the computer is on but when the computer is turned off I can here a noise. Although it is very quiet and does not bother me.
Faulty transformers will sometimes do that. I get complaints on home furnace systems all the time about it and have to either replace the transformer or place rubber pads under them to absorb vibration from them. Of course, you can't do that with a PSU so you might have to either RMA or live with it. It's probably not a functional failure, although it could become one. As I said, my G2 doesn't do it, on or off, nor has any other unit I've used or installed, so it's unusual and as such indicates an abnormality.
Idk whats going on but got back from RMA EVGA 850 G2 and its still doing the same as before. I can hear totally that annoying noise from coil/capacitor that "choking" noise. Is this normal? I can confirm that when PSU is working and PC is on there is almost no noise from it, but when PC is off the noise is unbearable, it makes me angry.Should I RMA it again? PC is working with it without any issue , the voltages are perfect, chechek johnnygurus review also for the voltages. Any ideas? Im going to burn this out ...
I wonder whether JonnyGuru will get a review sample of this unit? I mean, it's overkill for almost any consumer system I can think of. http://www.kitguru.net/components/power-supplies/matthew-wilson/8pack-and-super-flower-to-launch-worlds-first-2000w-consumer-psu/
Here's hoping! Quick question though, when will you ever want to buy this over the EVGA 1600 G2/P2/T2 or Corsair AX1500i? I know the obvious answer is "when you need 2000w" but when does that ever happen in consumer systems?
Hey, just got my new parts installed and everything runs great. Since you's are active at the moment would you mind checking out my gpu fan curve and temps. I'm not sure if the fan curve is correct but it is keeping my temps below 80c at full load running Unigine Heaven and is relatively quiet. I know this isn't a GPU thread sorry.
