The Corsair is also fully compatible with Haswell's low power C6 and C7 states. The Seasonic is not.

I hope Seasonic drops those old S/M 12 II models soon. They are sort of the models that got left behind compared to everything else Seasonic makes.

Only the M12II-750 Bronze EVO EDITION and M12II-850 Bronze EVO EDITION models use the DC to DC converter design.

The M12II-520 Bronze EVO EDITION and M12II-620 EVO EDITION Bronze both use the older group regulated design. Teardown of the M12II-520 Bronze EVO EDITION shows that it is definitely group regulated.

Seasonic even says that the DC to DC converter design only applies to the 750W and 850W models:

Here, the 750W and 850W Intel Haswell Processor Ready models are listed separately from the 520W and 620W models that don't show any Intel Haswell Processor Ready claim:

or the PDF product literature:

Ahhh good point. That list must be from when Haswell was first released. That was before the Evo models existed I believe. Won't use that list anymore.

Seasonic hasn't modified that list since May 2013. Too bad that they don't maintain it or put out a revised list.

Probably because it's usefulness is questionable. The intel test puts too much load on the 3.3v and 5v. A psu could still fail that test and do just fine in real world usage. Has anybody seen an example of an S12II/M12II having haswell issues? I haven't. Maybe they have been, but I certainly haven't run across it. Even if it does, just shut down C7 in the bios/UEFI.

Decent unit, would avoid overclocking on it though.
Runs a bit hot if I remember correctly.

EDIT : Considered T3 on this list, but it is superior to most other T3 units in my opinion.

No real reviews of the Aurum S exist but using the other FSP 80 Plus Gold units in the Aurum series as a baseline they should be decent. Wouldn't be my first choice but I wouldn't worry about having one either.

Well but the Aurum GOLD PSUs have Japenese Caps but this one doesn't. Will that make a huge difference ? Planning on using it with a r9 270X(not overclocking) for more than 5 Years.

If you have it already it will do just fine. If not, there are better units at the same price point.

Just wondering.. Why is the Antec VP 450P is listed in Tier 2b which only delivers 360W max on the 12V rail. Both VP 450P and non P versions are manufactured by FSP. Will this handle the GTX 760 or a GTX 960 ?

I'd say that the 2.0 list is a slightly updated work in progress. Soon I'll be publishing a list of recommended PSUs for various price point/wattage levels. It will make a lot more sense. There won't be any junk PSUs either.

Attention.

This list is to be deleted on April 31st 2015. After April 31st, a link to the new list will replace everything on the first post. This thread will now become the discussion thread. This may potentially lock the tier list v2 from comments (this will come into discussion with moderators).

Thank you.
