What tier do you think the Rosewill ARC series belong?

It's an incredible deal of a power supply, semi-modular, 450W at $25? Seems like a Corsair-killer.

Does anyone know about this PSU?

All I know is that from the UL# it is an ABS unit.

yeah it had its flaws though but delivered full power at 50c. http://www.realhardtechx.com states full power at 40c for the ARC. well, we will have to wait for an actual review. it wont be long i guess !

So it will be Tier Five?

"Rosewill (their older PSUs)"

That doesn't seem right, but that looks like it is where it will go since the Liberta is one of their older PSUs.

I guess i'll stop recommending that PSU on the forums, lol.

No way. If they have Corsair CX and RM in tier 2B then anything ATNG/ABS is is like tier 1AA lol. These tiers are AFU.

I think what they intended is the Rosewills that are made by Solytech Wintech, and Youngyear, be in tier 5.The Sirtec and ATNG units are certainly better than the units put out by Chicony and Channel Well (RM/CX).

Cool, thanks for the clarification. I see an ABS PSU in tier 2B, so that makes sense.

hi guys. would a silverstone strider 750w 80+ silver be good enough for a asus radeon r9 280 crossfire? will also have 120 gb ssd. 2 tb HDD

Is this the unit?

If so it is a very solid unit that would handle Crossfire 280s easily. That being said I see that review is from 2010. If your power supply is over 4 years old then I would start thinking about upgrading. Capacitor aging is not as bad as power supply calculation sites make it out to be at least not with high quality units but it does happen.

yep that's the PSU. and i think the series is quite old but I'll be getting one new so capacitor aging shouldn't be an issue. Thanks a lot man!

It looks like all Tier 1 XFX psu's have been discontinued. That's unfortunate.

Second, regarding the Tier 2: OCZ "ModXStream series (Again, if manufactured from December 2007 or later)".

I just had a OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W from 2009 blow out this week. Not sure I'd make that a Tier 2.

Really? Bummer, I bought an XFX Black Edition 1250w a few months ago, got it dirt cheap as well and it was brand new.

You were able to get it cheap because they were clearing remaining stock out of the distribution channel. XFX is pretty much limited to the platforms that Seasonic still have in production.

Actually, I got it new and sealed off of eBay for £80 (it's currently £190 on scan) as some guy won one in a competition but didn't need it, put it up for 99p starting bid, I won it for £75 plus p+p. Probably the best deal I've ever gotten 😛

I believe that is a Seasonic G series platform. That would make it a very solid tier 2 if not tier 1. Other than a slightly inferior fan I don't see how the G series is inferior to the X series.
