[citation][nom]Cmartin011[/nom]alright now were movies come in and reality makes it stand.. aliens come here accessing are satellites by simply reading are encrypted data using quantum and bio computing that should be 50 to thousands of years more advanced than ares.. we wouldn't know we were be being hacked till are computers don't respond and we realize were not in control at all of the internet or are machinery like missiles or any military stuff.. so safe against aliens i highly doubt it.[/citation]
wow!!!..you seem to know these aliens so well...

even if aliens exist, there's never a 100% possibility that their technology is that far from ours. Have you ever thought that their intelligence level might be lower than that of humans? I guess too much space movies is bad for you...

This means a Skynet attack is impossible?! I can sleep quietly now... 😛

[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]Burkina Faso? Trinidad and Tobago? WHAT!?I expected Japan, Germany and Russia to be on the list, honestly.[/citation]

Do you really think that possible catastrophes such as asteroids/solar flares will leave out the wealthier countries?

Geographical diversity = disaster planning 101

[citation][nom]Wittermark[/nom]China was the third country in history to send a man to space, one of the 6 countries to develop nuclear technology (in the 50's), and a booming industry with double digit economic growth for the past decade, also sporting one of the best internet security experts in th world. I'm pretty sure I have no doubt in their abilities.[/citation]

My sincerest apologies to anyone that may have been offended. This was not meant to be derogatory in the least. I was simply making light of the fact that increasingly more and more of our technology (card programmers) and manufactured goods (smart cards) come from one country... namely China.

This means that no matter whose name is on the product, it's likely that our internet network hardware and server systems were manufactured by this one country, which just happens to run our new "secure" protocol. It may be designed elsewhere and there may be a few exceptions, but as a whole it seems unwise that so much of our "critical" global internet communication systems run on equipment manufactured in any one country.

With the potential for malicious code mysteriously ending up in places such as Server Motherboards ... this one country approach appears that it could be a recipe for disaster.

Again my apologies.

Is there a reason of choosing these particular countries? Somehow when I see China in the group, it doesn't give me a sense of security.

Come on! We're not "Kidding You" Trinidad and Tobago is on the list? whats so wrong with that?![citation][nom]Someguy@2010[/nom]"Burkina Faso!? You're kidding me?"And what are u saying? --> Trinidad and Tobago ?! Are u really kidding me?"[/citation]

Nothing's wrong with T'dad and T'bago... Whats the problem?[citation][nom]eddieroolz[/nom]Burkina Faso? Trinidad and Tobago? WHAT!?I expected Japan, Germany and Russia to be on the list, honestly.[/citation]

They sure do have better chances of survival than two islands.

I don't see the problem with Trinidad and Tobago or Burkina Faso. It's irritating to think that people can be so narrow minded when it comes to security, i.e. why CERTAIN countries attack OTHER countries to hold on to world power :) I doubt very much they did this in vain, but i presume much thought was put into the positioning and location of these keys. What was NOT a good move was the disclosing of the fact that the keys ACTUALLY exist...

Please don't discriminate against Trinidad and Tobago or (in its defense also) Burkina Faso. We are very much capable people for tasks like this.

excuse me? *sigh* Trinidad and Tobago's geographical location is one of extreme importance to the world. Not only because of our exact position, but because of HOW we are located.. A tad bit confusing, but all in all, we have a low natural threat rating, i.e. teh last direct hurricane hit was i believe in 1971, we have had no major earthquakes for quite a while, and most likely if we do have an earthquake, the chances are that Trinidad would become part of venezuela or split into two. Anyway thats beside the point. Its in the order of Coup D'Etat, you aim for the highest powers first, and then convince the lower ones to join you. We DO have a better chance of surviving :)[citation][nom]CTPAHHIK[/nom]They sure do have better chances of survival than two islands.[/citation]

Hurricane is unlikely to do any significant damage. If there is asteroid impact or earthquake islands will be wiped out by tsunami.

I live in Trinidad & Tobago. If you were going to pick a Caribbean nation, this is the one. Regional hub, stable industrial/oil economy, stable government, technologically advanced. However, that said we're a flyspeck. I mean really tiny. We've got 1.2 million people total. Trinidad, the larger island, is on 70 miles long. I read this article and had a WTF moment.

John Connor holds the key to the bunker!!!And the Governator holds the key that rules them all!!

"Our webs are down, sir. We can't log in!"
"Which webs?"
"All of them!"
"They've penetrated our code walls. They're stealing the internet!"
"We'll need to hack all IPs simultaneously."

Do the denizens of Burkina Faso even have internet?
Personally i'd do something slightly more logical like:
US, UK, Germany, Russia, Holland, China, you know, the major industrialized where MOST internet traffic originates...and one for the saudi's too just to keep'm feeling special
