I got my CompactFlash to IDE converter and it worked. What didnt work was the PXE network booting. Must have been a problem with the motherboard itself or the onboard LAN. It was not a problem with the server because I booted a laptop with it and it worked perfectly. I already RMA'd it to Newegg and bought another one. This one is not a refurb so hopefully it works. Its a
Chaintech 7VIF4 VIA KM400 Socket A mATX MB w/Vid, Snd, LAN. I should get it early next week and then ill start folding with it

Only bad thing is that it will have to run with a Duron 750. Ill see if i can overclock it to 850Mhz or so, which will help but wont do miracles. It would be even better if I could run it at 133Mhz FSB and change the multiplier. Do I have to join the L1 bridges to overclock it? I already went over it with a pencil but ill see if it works when I get my motherboard.
Edit: GOOD NEWS (hopefully)
😀 I extracted the network boot rom out of the Chaintech 7VIF4 BIOS I downloaded from the manufacturer's site and then opened it in a hex editor. I found the following string in it:
[code:1:719fd87722]Copyright (C) 1997,1998,1999 Intel Corporation
VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter v2.17 (2002/11/04)
Intel Corporation Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082) [/code:1:719fd87722]
So it appears it supports PXE

I'll be in business soon  Also found strings for Novell Netware boot but I dont care about that.
