I've spent an hour or so at dcsig designing a custom sig for THG. Their generic ones suck. I haven't tested it yet, but it better work :!: It will stay up to date automatically, and anyone will be welcome to use it when I'm done. Wish me luck 8)

When the pc start the folding it says time to complete 289 days and 59 seconds what the fuji! Is this natural or did I just got lucky and got a pain is the ass project for my pc to work on?

I wouldn't believe what it's saying, usually that estimate is wrong. When you first start up the PC and work on it that estimate will be much higher than actual.

Let the computer idle for a while and leave FAH running, it should speed up.

I finished the sig. It is called "THG" and it's available at dcsig.com The account is free, and you don't even have to provide an email addy. Everyone is welcome to use it. I'll probably do another some day when I get time. They aren't that hard if someone with more artistic talent than me would like to tackle one. I hope someone at least gets some use out of it.

lol Sorry, I keep taking them all. My Pc at work just got p2390_Coiled coil for 1112 points and my AMD is crunching p2362 for 723 😀

@stefan & dluckle I'm glad you like the sig. I sorta threw it together. The next one will be better 8)

Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do you know how many points a WU is going to be worth before you are done with it?

One other question, I've got way more PCs running Fah than I can run around and check on. Does anyone know of a good program that will show the status of all the PCs I have running Fah? What's the best tool? I'd like something that doesn't require another client program to be installed on each computer.

EntityAnomly - Thanks for the shout, I'm Aragorn1024 folding for THG. I've been watching this thread whenever it pops up on THG's front page just hadn't replied to anything yet.

They sort of secodn the ones Entity put up.

1st - How do you guys all know so much about the work unit you are working on at the present (number of points and such)? Do you actually go dig on the folding site or is there a better way?

2nd - Is there anyway that I can affect what work units I pick up or is it pure chance what units we get? I seem to get a lot of low point units that take days to finish.

I have 4.5 processors folding at any given time.
1 x Althon 64 3000+ OC'd to 2103 MHz
1 x Athlon 64 3100+ Stock speed
1 x Pentium M 1.86 GHz
1 x Pentium M 1.6 GHZ
1 x Pentium III 800 MHz ( I'm only couting this one as half since it only seems to be in my last 7 days active cound half the time (-: )

Stanford has info. here and beta projects are here.

As far as monitoring tools there's a list here.
EM3 seems to be the most popular. I prefer Fahmon. There is no client side work necessary on most of them. Just browse to the folder where FAH is installed on it works as long as you have network access.
If you need help with a prog. let me know.

Good luck.

I've got a strange issue here with FAHmon. I have been running it for about 5 hours now and it has continuously been reporting that all my machines are inactive even though I have been seeing solid and unslowing progress from each of the 5. Has anybody see this before or have any idea what could be causing that?

I'm not too bothered since the machines are all still making good grogress but it would be nice to see some green squares.

LOL who changed the signature so it lists everyone's penis size? Good thing I don't have that sig, there's not enough room for all the digits on that image size for me anyway.

LOL  I actually forgot to change it back. 😳 Do you think we should keep it?
As soon as I am satisfied with this sig, I'll do another. On the whole, I kinda like it. It's better than any I could find, and it's definitely THG.

so it lists everyone's penis size
Im true techie fashion, it's now using the nanometer as the scale.
(sorry cunning, I just couldn't pass that by.)
So tell me cunning, why does you name always remind me about the difference between a group of Vegas show girls, and the Lipizoner horses?

Becuase the horses have a cunning array of stunts.

What some customers and PC builders have found is that single core applications have major problems with Dual Core set ups. This is massively manifested in lagging frames, even though the user has the best components and graphics card possible.

I like AMD - that's why I bought AMD. The Intel dual core offering is not clearly as well though out. But the main problem from all of this is the OS itself. XP seems to take dual core on the face of it, but when you get performance degradation due to lack of dual core support, its a tad disappointing!!!
