Yes I got that message twice. Good thought though, I'm sure plenty of people are having problems with it from my research.

I think I am having a problem downloading the core itself. The core file in my Dir is 0 bytes.

I got the address at which I could find the core with the -verbosity 9 flag and downloaded it manually and put it in the dir but as soon as I run the Fah.exe file the file I downloaded gets written over with a file of 0 KB.

I also noticed the line "- Error: HTTP GET returned error code 0" followed by "+ Error: Could not download core" in the error I am getting (posted earlier).

Here is the error with the -verbocity 9 flag:

Any help would be great.

Only thing I can think of is it's maybe being blocked by a firewall? Perhaps you should make a thread at the official F@H forums, I had a look and didn't see anything like your problem.

I have a problem too, probably I'm just stupid. I'm trying to use this sig image from EOC Stats, but all I end up with is the BB or html code in my sig. Can someone show me what to do?

e.g.
sigimage.php

I know my firewall is not blocking it. In fact I have FAH processors as super trust level and they have full permissions (far more than they should need but I was trying to figure out what was wrong and wanted to eliminate that). Good suggestion though thanks for the help.

As for the sig: My guess is that you have to make sure HTML and BBC code is on next to the signature editing box. Your tags and source look good.

Yeah, BB and HTML are on, I have tried many different methods but it doesn't work. As you can see it won't work in the main post either. I think it has something to do with the image not having an extension. I think I might have to use HTML code to put it in a frame, not sure if that's possible in a sig or not.

Aragorn, have you tried the Linux SMP client through VMware server? It's twice as fast as the Windows client. It's really pretty easy to do with Ubuntu Linux, I can help if you like. If you're not up to it I could install and config a Windoes SMP client, then zip it up and e-mail it to you.

Can you run the WinSMP client as a service yet? I haven't seen anything definitive in the posts I've read, but I may have missed it.

Thanks,
Pork

Is there a tutorial out there that tells one how to set that up?

I have worked with and programmed unix in the past but never installed it. I have not worked with linux though. No time.

Mine were already turned on and I tried to add my signature. Let's see how this works.

The problem is what you are trying to display. For the IMG tag to work the actual file has to be an image and php is a client side web language not a picture file. If you look at aragons source it is a .gif file. I think you need to host it some where like aragon did at liquidninja's.com

Go here

]URL=http://imageshack.us[]IMG[http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/4558/sigimageul5.gif]/IMG[]/URL[

All brackets displayed have been inverted from proper form to show coding.

I don't know which would work better, DCIS or Imageshack, but there ya go.

SuperFly has done the same thing I have. I know if you want to host at DCsig the image has to say 'LiquidNijas.com' on it some where. The sig I use was actually created by another THG Forum Member (I think Cunning) and is called (if I remember correctly) THG9. It is officially available with a whole host of others on DCsig.com it is kept up to date by their systems so it is constantly showing my status.

Yeah, I thought of that, but then the image wouldn't update automatically, I would have to keep uplading it manually. Unfortunatly, I don't like the LiquidNinja sig.

There are also XML and CVS feeds available from EOC stats, would anyone know how to make a sig?

Yes, there are quite a few. I was thinking of creating an updated one for this site. The ones available all have an error or two in them you would need to figure out and work around.

It's really easy though with Ubuntu or Xubuntu Linux, you'll be up and running and folding in 30 minutes. I'll write a guide.

Belvdr,
The easiest way to deal with this is to use a site called "tinyurl.com." They will host your php image long enough for it to look like a .gif image, and it will automatically update every time the page is loaded by someone so it will always reflect your current numbers. 8)

First, go to "http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/?nav=IMAGES" and setup the image the way you want it. I think you have already done that. :) Be sure to use the "Alternate Method" directory structure rather than the ? and & query tags. :) For whatever it is worth, here is the way mine, at the bottom of this post, is setup: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/sigs/sigimage.php/un=bholland2/t=40051/c1=00ff00/c2=000000/c3=000000/c4=0000ff/c5=ff9933

Second, once you have an image you like goto http://tinyurl.com and type, or paste in, your http line and press the "Make TinyURL!" button. 8) This will return you a URL that looks something like "tinyurl.com/yje34v", or some such (this one is mine). This now points to your long http line and will generate your php image and temporarily store the image. :)

Now you use the tinyURL in your sig as follows(NOTE-I reversed the brackets too)
]img[http://tinyurl.com/yje34v/.gif]/img[
Notice the addition of "/.gif" to the img line after the URL.
You turn those "][" around and you will get my sig. Your tinyURL will give you your sig and it will be updated each time it is viewed so the totals will always be current.

NOTE -> My sig is actually an Icon, you click on it and it takes you to the beginning of this thread. This is what my full sig line looks like:
]url=http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/THGC-Team-40051-ftopict62650.html[]img[http://tinyurl.com/yje34v/.gif]/img[]/url[
I reversed the "[]" in this one too.

I worked out how to put the sig stats into your signature 8)

Mr Sloth's Guide to "Cheat the IMG TAG's in PHP forums"

Step One:
Use this form of link: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/sigs/sigimage.php/un=Geeky_Byzantine/t=40051/c1=00ff00/c2=000000/c3=000000/c4=0000ff/c5=ff9933

Notice it replaces the PHP ? and &'s with /'s, which tricks it into thinking it is a directory and not a string query 😛

Step Two:

Go to http://tinyurl.com and convert the above address into a tiny URL... (Here's one I prepared earlier: http://tinyurl.com/y3bt5n :) )

Step Three:

Use the following tag:
[code:1:f2ea6ee90b]
.gif
[/code:1:f2ea6ee90b]

The TinyURL link gives the direction to the correct place of the PHP generated image, the ".gif" tricks the IMG tags into thinking it is a real picture.... (The generated PHP image is infact a .gif file output)

.gif

Optional Step

To have your signature also work as a link to the THG Team 40051 Folding Thread, use the following code instead of the line in the previous step.

[code:1:f2ea6ee90b][/code:1:f2ea6ee90b]

Which will show up like this

This will now work in your Signature...

And that is my guide to cheating the PHP based IMG forums tag

My guide I wrote for THG Folding Sig's back on page 60 last year 8)

knightrous,

I looked for that for over an hour yesterday, could not find it. 😳 I didn't remember who wrote it and since I couldn't find it I just figured it had been deleted. 🙁 So, I rewrote it from scratch. 8) Glad you jumped in so credit for the work could go to the original creator. 😀

The colors were worked out by Geeky_Byzantine 8)
They were supposed to be a uniform, of sorts, for Toms folders. 😀

LOL

wow, its been a while since i was here.

I'm still folding... slow as all hell mind you. a few hundred points a mth now it looks like.

I have been trying to save energy by not running my PC too much, im not too sure why my folding rate has drop SO much.

I have FahCore_78... im guessing that Old now running at about 90%.

I have it saveing check points set to about the 5 min mark, but to me it looks like it only saves when it gets to a round number...like 5000 of 50000.

should i check the Disable Highly optimised assembly code box?

I knew that was going to happen, damn. Thought it might work, I just really didn't want to reg at the liquid ninja site.

Quit stealing my darn trick... inverting crap randomly is my claim to fame! 8O

Just kidding.

So we've got about 20 new members in the last couple of days. That's quite a jump, very impressive. Makes me wonder though, what did all you new members see that made you join the team all of a sudden?

Welcome to all you new members 😀

Has anyone noticed the fact that most of our current threats are from PS3 folding teams... who are gaining on us at an EXTREME pace. one of the teams is catching up at 400,000 points per day....
